Today’s meet the team Monday is our lovely nurse Elaine, who I’m sure you are all familiar with! 💗
You’ll recognise Elaine immediately from her infectious laugh, she is always giggling and has all of us here in stitches on a regular basis... 😂 Elaine has been a dental nurse for 24 years and all 24 of those years she has spent with us here at affinity ☺️
Elaine loves spending time with her three children and her husband 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 They enjoy spending time away in their caravan at the weekends 🚌 She’s also a big fan of animals with 3 dogs 🐕 a hamster 🐹 and a Guinea pig! 🐹

I’m sure you have all seen the NHS advert about overusing these drugs and the dangers it can cause, so we will be putting up a poster in our waiting room so our patients can know the facts about this issue! ☺️
... As dentists we will only ever prescribe antibiotics if necessary as there are many more ways to treat dental infections! 🦷

✨Caring for your babies/toddlers teeth✨
Here at affinity we have lots of families a lot of which have young children and babies 👶
As part of our job we’re here to advise you how to look after not only your teeth but to help care for your family and children’s teeth aswell ☺️🦷
... As soon as your babies first tooth comes through you can start brushing them with a soft small baby toothbrush and low fluoride toothpaste twice a day 💦 If your baby is fussy (as many are) 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 or they are sore from teething you can use a clean facecloth or gauze wrapped around your finger with some toothpaste on it to clean them ☺️
As for their first dental exam, we suggest bringing them in once they get their first tooth 🦷 The reason for this is because we like to make sure everything is ok and to get them used to coming in and to become familiar with their dentist so that there is no dental anxiety once they are older ☺️

🥞Pancake Tuesday reminder!!🥞
Less than a week away Tuesday the 5th of March ☺️❤️
... This Pancake Tuesday why don’t you try keeping it low sugar or sugar free!!! 🤷🏼‍♀️ We found this recipe for low sugar pancakes online!!! (Tried and tested, it’s yummy!)😍
-2 cups of blended oats -2 tsp of baking powder -1/4 tsp of salt -1 large ripe banana -2 large eggs -2 tbsp of honey (optional) -1tsp vanilla extract.
Although this is a healthier option and far less sugar than a normal pancake, it is still counted as a sugar hit because of the fruit! 😮
We advise sticking to only 3 sugar hits a day and to try and keep your snacks in between sugar free ☺️

My implants have been installed and teeth have been built up,in the past six months by Rachel, Lucy and Elaine. I am so delighted with finished teeth, thank you so much for all the expertise care and attention.

I hadn't been to a dentist in several years but had heard about Affinity dental care from friends and family. The level of professionalism which Rachel and her whole team provided was incredible. My daughter (4) and son (2) both came with me for their first visit to the dentist as well. The provision for families and small children was great. We'll definitely be back.

First class service All the staff are so friendly and helpfull. From the min you walk through the door you feel relaxed. Joanne is so good and patient with My Daughter as shes a nervous wee thing. Brilliant team x
