After his wife passed away, Donald stopped going out as much and soon became quite isolated. He said if he hadn’t received support from Age NI, he would have just faded away.
There are over 350,000 older people living in Northern Ireland. And over the next twenty years that figure is expected to increase by 30%.
As the number of older people increases so does the demand on our services. That’s why we need your help.
... Today we launch our Summer appeal. Your support means everything to people like Donald..
If you can, please donate today.

“My parents are getting older and as a family, we were worried in case something happened when we weren’t there. An Age NI Personal Alarm really gives us peace of mind, that if they need it, they can get help quickly.
What’s good about an Age NI Personal Alarm is that you are also supporting Age NI’s valuable work, helping them to provide advice, care and support to older people who have no one else to turn to.
I would really encourage anyone thinking about getting a Persona...l Alarm to go for it, you never know when you might need it.”

We are Delighted to support @Thecampaigntoendloneliness #BeMoreUs video.
The campaign has found almost half of UK adults say that their busy lives stop them from connecting with other people. We can all play a part to tackle loneliness. And it’s incredibly simple .The next time you’re on the bus, at the shops or out and about, look for an opportunity to make a connection.
Small moments can make a big difference. #BeMoreUs

LAST 5 DAYS! Changes to who can claim Pension Credit will be introduced on 15th May 2019. You can still apply for Pension credit up until the 15th May. Call our Advice and Advocacy Service on 0808 808 7575 or go to www.ageni.org/moremoney.
Under the new rules, mixed aged couples (where one partner is of pension age, and the other is of working age) will have to wait until BOTH partners have reached pension age before making a claim.
We’re urging you to please check your benefits now, and ensure you are getting the support you are entitled to. #PensionCredit #AgeGapTax

Delighted that our #SwitchedOff campaign, which is calling on the Government to save free TV licences for over 75s, is being debated in Parliament this afternoon.
Really great to see this issue taking centre stage in Parliament.

With only two more sleeps to this years Belfast city marathon we thought we’d celebrate some of the wonderful people who are running for Age NI.
A group of 16 friends have come together to run the Belfast City Marathon in support of Age NI. They are running to say thanks for the invaluable support provided to Ken, one of the runner’s father.
Jude Tweedie whose father received support from Age NI during his illness said:
... “Age NI were accessible, friendly and absolutely knew their stuff. The Age NI staff gave us advice on a whole range of issues – big and small and they did it all with care, compassion and expertise.”
