Aimee graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University through Belfast Metropolitan College in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Management. First, Second and Final year modules included the study of; Textiles, Design Research & Conceptualisation, Pattern Development, Garment Construction, Quality Management and Business and Marketing Management.

Aimee spent an optional placement year working within the fashion industry in Belfast, gaining experience and developing skills in made-to-measure Atelier services, alternative methods of design and dyeing techniques, photoshoots, fashion shows, sales, web design and business management. Along side this she worked part-time in DV8 in the city centre in order to gain knowledge in the retail side of the industry also.

In 2016 Aimee began to work toward her dream of opening her own design company and continues to work toward its growth and development. Aimee Liz Designs is now operating part time from Aimee's home, where she offers a full design service for made-to-measure garments, offering both a fabric sourcing service and alterations along-side.

How we work:

ALD strive to create your ideal garment and work along-side our customers in 3-4 consultations from design to final fitting:

1) To discuss design and fabrics. In this meeting we co-design a dream garment that flatters the customers figure and colouring. If fabric has been supplied by the customer then this appointment time would be used for measuring also.

2) If the fabrics have been sources in-house then we have a meeting to choose from the sourced samples of fabric. Measurements will also be taken at this appointment and the deposit is to be paid.

3) Toile fitting. At ALD we want to make sure that the garment is as perfect as can be so we will create a mock-garment for fitting before using the chosen fabrics. This saves both costs and time in the final fitting.

4) Final fitting! This appointment is when you see your dream garment completed, there will always be a few final little checks to make sure it is fitting and sitting perfectly and then it's all yours! The next time that you see it will be to collect or its delivery for your special occasion!
