Alexanders Scrubs Project 💓
Over the last number of weeks everyone at Alexanders has been so appreciative of everything our NHS Staff and Key Workers have been doing to save lives. We wanted to help make a small difference in any way we could. We came up with the idea of donating money for fabric to make scrubs for those front line workers who need them to stay safe while doing their job.
Thank you to all the staff for their donations and Suzanne and Johanne in particular fo...r their generosity. The project was organised by our Interior Designer Rachel, she has been instumental in making sure everything has run smoothly. Local stitchers Ann and Aileen have been working so hard swapping sewing curtains and cushions for making the scrubs and have done an amazing job with the finished products. Plus our very own Felicity, Gillian and Emma have been busy making lovely bags for the scrubs to be delivered in. Also a big thanks to Chris, Ossie, Joanne, Teresa and Stephen for their scrubs knowledge and help in this unfamiliar territory.
So far we have sent scrubs to Daisy Hill Stroke/Rehab, Daisy Hill Midwifery, Craigavon A&E, Craigavon ICU, Community Nurses - Southern Trust, Hamilton Court - Armagh, Ardaveen Manor - Bessbrook and Carrickore Respite Unit - Newry.
This is such a small gesture in comparison to what staff in the NHS are doing for us. We hope to have discussions about what else we can do going forward.

Having considered the entire situation, especially the safety of our employees and their families, it is with overwhelming sadness and regret that we will be closing the complete business today for as long as necessary. We have decided against opening a click and collect food service as we do not want to risk the health and safety of any of our staff or customers.
-Our Interior Design staff are working remotely and all enquiries can be answered by emailing interiors...@alexandersgiftstore.com -Our online store is still operational for Gift Registry items. -You can still message us on social media for any enquiries you have during this period.
As you can imagine this has not been an easy decision to make and we want to thank all our loyal staff and customers who have given us unwavering support always. We will come through this period stronger together and we hope it won’t be long before we’re greeting you all back to the store.

UPDATE: Following government advice the Market House Restaurant will be CLOSED from tomorrow morning for as long as is necessary in order to keep everyone safe. Our Gift Shop will remain open and all protective procedures will remain in place.
As you can imagine this has not been an easy decision to make and we want to thank all of our team for being so understanding and supportive throughout this difficult period.
We are currently working on a takeaway food service which we... hope will be available from next week. Keep an eye on our social media for further information.

We are getting quite a few phone calls this morning asking if we are open..
As it stands, our store and restaurant are open from 9am-4pm. We have had no guidance to close at the moment but we would like to stress that this could change at any time. We have all of the measures in place regarding hygiene and sanitation and would encourage you to refrain from visiting us if you have any of the two symptoms (new, continuous cough and/or a high temperature).
We are also looking at a food takeaway service at the moment so if you could let us know if this is something you would be interested in the comments we would appreciate that 💞

Alexanders COVID-19 Statement
As a family run business in a local community, it's our intention to support our employees and customers as best we can. We are planning to remain open for as long as we possibly can, but this could change at any time depending on government advice. At the moment our opening hours are 9am-4pm Monday to Saturday.
We really appreciate the support from all our loyal customers in recent days and want to thank our staff who have been very understandin...g and supportive. We want to stress that we are following government guidelines strictly regarding social distancing and hygiene practices and have implemented the following in accordance with this:
1. We have increased regular sanitation of door handles, work stations, banisters etc.
2. We have installed hand sanitiser on the ground floor of the shop for public use and encourage all customers to use this upon entry and exit of the shop. Our staff are regularly washing their hands in line with the advice given.
3. Wedding list customers can still buy online and choose to either pick the gift up in-store or leave it for the bride/groom to collect.
We would ask that if you or a family member have any of the symptoms (new, continuous cough and/or high temperature) that you would refrain from visiting us, as per government advice.
We hope to bring a click and collect food service to our restaurant in the coming days which we are currently working on. For anyone visiting, we have beautiful displays in store for Mother’s Day and Easter.
As you are aware, this is a very difficult time for local businesses in Northern Ireland. We would really appreciate if you could leave positive reviews, follow our social media and like and share our posts. We will be trying to post positive content where possible in the days and weeks ahead. We have taken expiry dates off all our gift cards so they can be used when we go back to normal trading.

Important Announcement - COVID-19
We would like to reassure our customers that we are taking every precaution by following all government guidelines.
We have hand sanitiser installed for public use which we encourage customers to use. We have deep cleaning procedures in place throughout the store and our staff have been told to wash their hands and sanitise on a constant basis.
