I have no real interest in ice hockey but will watch it like most sports. Watch this guy and the speed of his hands! Amazing!

I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the rugby squads at CAI. Obviously getting to the semi-final shows that the work the boys are putting in the gym is paying off, but it is how the squad is developing as a whole that is pleasing most. Many of the boys who are progressing well where not involved yesterday but I am sure they will feature heavily in the future of rugby at CAI. I began working with the school around Easter 2013 and on my first meeting with Mr B...

Nice wee video here of where I did my MSc in Sport Performance Enhancement, and gives an insight into the science of sport performance. Great experience and would do it all again! The video even has In Swing Fitness in a starring role! He has gone all big time since I left Edinburgh!!

This is the heart rate monitoring system I am hoping to be using in the fitness facility that will be opening. It will be used to monitor fitness sessions and recovery for individuals and also teams. Currently being used by England rugby and football, and also Barcelona FC to name a few professional teams. It is a great way to monitor both intensity of sessions and also recovery!

Just finalising the details for the gym, but it should be up and running before Easter. Great ideas and going to go through the equipment wishlist over the next few days! Its going to be a great place for the serious trainer, or people wanting to get fit to workout!!

Who says footballers don't need to do weights?! The best footballer in the world has been doing them for years!

In my opinion only one thing worse than losing a final and that's losing a semi-final! Feel for the lads today, just one of those days, a lot of bruised sore bodies in the changing room after, effort was not in question today. Very hard to pinpoint where we went wrong but that's for another day. Easy on the sidelines to pick holes (and plenty do!) but I know from experience how they feel now. Chin up lads, the pain you feel now always make the wins more satisfying! The best teams in any sport have had to lose the big games to learn how to win them!

Semi-final tomorrow for Coleraine RFC tomorrow, I see Ballyclare are ramping it up by getting good luck messages from people on twitter (John Afoa, George Pisi and Alex Payne from Sky Sports).
Here's hoping the boys step up and perform well! Ballyclare are a settled side and feel a sense of togetherness so will be tough game so must be matched in all quarters!
... Here's what their coach had to say in their local paper.

Back training on the indoor rower again! Love this piece of kit and one of the best indoor conditioning tools you can use in my opinion!
Session today was 2 sets of 15 mins keeping the pace below 1.57/500m. My average was 1.54.6 with set 1 being 1.55.1 and set 2 being 154.2. Might not make much sense to anyone who has never used it much but I would highly recommend using it if you want to build up your fitness!
... My PB for the 2km is 6.26.8 which I did 2 years ago this month so my plan is to get down near that again and hopefully get below it again! I've added a photo for those non-believers!!

Couldn't agree more! Never too late to start exercise of some sort. Decrease risk of injury and disease, improve ease of movement and not to mention the social benefits!

Great weekend with Jonny Watson, founder of In Swing Fitness in Edinburgh discussing ideas for collaboration over the next year. Some great ideas and can't wait to get him back over next year and run a few seminars and golf fitness camps. It was Jonnys first time over in Northern Ireland and he was bowled over by the courses here, unfortunately we didn't get out for a round this time but am sure next time he can destroy me on the courses here as he has done in Scotland many t...imes!
Exciting times next year and the camps and seminars will be brilliant for anyone who wants to improve their golf by improving their fitness. A lot of the times people go and spend 100's of pounds on new clubs when spending a few pounds on yourself and increasing their mobility and stability can make significant improvements! Anyone wanting further information about the upcoming camps or wanting to improve their golf fitness now get in touch!

Sonny Bill Williams - Great player, which code is he best at or does playing both make him a better all round player?!

User

My sentiments exactly! Keep telling the rugby lads this!

At last got the internet sorted again, didn't realise how much I used it! Over the past few weeks things have moved along nicely about opening a conditioning facility in the Coleraine area. The business plan requires us to find out if there would be many people interested in such a facility. The video link below is of a similar place in Wales. The facility would be designed to improve the fitness of each individual that joined and that each member would not just be a nameles...s face! It would have conditioning classes included in memberships and the facility would be able to house sports teams for group conditioning as well as an area for individual members. I would also be keen to offer scholarships to local young talent who are not already receiving any support, to improve their strength and conditioning for their chosen sport.
If you would be keen to join such a facility please like this link!
Cheers, Ally

Couple of very positive meetings yesterday about opening a fitness conditioning facility. Would be keen to get some feedback from as many people as possible on what they want from gyms, trainers, etc!
