Alternatives Restorative Justice Description
Northern Ireland Alternatives (NIA) is a government accredited restorative justice programme that aims to promote and develop non-violent community responses to the issues of low-level crime and anti-social behaviour in areas across Northern Ireland.
We currently have branches in North Belfast, Greater Shankill, East Belfast, South Belfast and North Down.
Give & Take: Start is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) through Department of Employment and Learning (DEL). It is a partnership programme between Include Youth and Northern Ireland Alternatives.

Great week this week at East Belfast Alternatives Ballynafoy summer scheme with Apex housing association. The theme was community and it was fun filled week of t shirt making, drama workshop, baking, games in park and finished with trip to Lisburn Swimming pool!

Day three of summer scheme was filled with first time experiences for everyone. Today we went horse riding and had a fantastic day. It was also a bonus to get praise from the staff on how well behaved all of our young people are.
First day of summer scheme has kicked off. Thank you to our local policing team for facilitating football skills and team building. Looking forward to our next two weeks of adventures.
North Belfast Alternatives completed detached work on Saturday night in Ballysillan and Cavehill Country Park.
East Belfast Youth reference group attended Jade City tonight as part of the Eastside Arts festival. Excellent performance and very thought provoking. Great to see young people enjoying the festival! 🎭

Enjoyable afternoon on the Shankill as Brian from South Belfast Alternatives delivered an interesting and informative session on keeping safe on Social Media to the Shankill START team and other local youths. Thank you Brian for your expertise! 👏👊

Four weeks ago, young people from South Belfast Alternatives YAP project visited youth organisations in Londonderry who are also supported by Urban Villages.
Today it was a pleasure for South Belfast & Greater Shankill Alternatives to host a social history tour of the Shankill as part of a return visit from the Cathedral Youth Club, Fountain Estate. Many thanks to Urban Villages for the continued support.
