Why do I only do personal training and small groups??
For me this is so simple...
And it's about that person's health!!
... The amount of people who come to me with some kind of issue, whether it's glutes not firing, low back pain, tight aching quads, sciatica, shoulder pain...
The list is honestly endless.
I do not focus purely on the fat loss for people, which to me is only a by-product of looking after yourself, and being empowered enough to feel you have the tools to and can stick to it.
I am fussy with movements... I teach exact movements so people can work smart and build their healthiest and strongest body, and eat to compliment what the now love to do... look after themselves.
My belief in what I do is so strong, as I see so many issues people have, and when u overload those issues with weight and impact, to me is actually contrary to people's health and wellbeing.
Yes you get the heart rate up and whatever.
But to me.... if you can't learn to perform the movement first and accurately, over time it can cause so many more issues.
And to me, that's exactly what people are paying for, the knowledge and tools they can learn and then carry with them to either join a gym, or classes (and actually get the most out of the movements), and make the muscles work properly. Or whatever they decide to do.
I am so passionate about people's physical and mental health and their own personal journey, to guide them to their healthiest happiest version of themselves.
Coupled with the mindset itself, of selfcare and self love, and understanding that if your willing to achieve a life you love, you can and will do anything you set your mind to.
But it's a life we all have to learn to live, because we get sucked into just getting by, and it's not good enough for this one life you get, it's a gift.

And that's how I did it!!
Impressive?... or not so much when you see how long it took me to lose...
... On average, 2 and a half pound a week... consistently for roughly 182weeks, while getting healthier, stronger and fitter.
This is something I am passionate about... slower is healthier, and how long are you going to look after yourself? 6weeks 8weeks 12.... or do u want to for the rest of your life and show those closest to you how to do the same 🙌🙌
And to try to aim for any more than 2lb a week of fat loss to me is aggressive on your body. Unhealthy!!
Even those online calculators for calories to consume and what to aim to lose weekly, call the category of 2lb or more RECKLESS/AGGRESSIVE, and I agree.
And yes before anyone starts complaining, some will lose "weight" not just fat, a little faster than others, in fact you will lose muscle mass about 3 times faster than fat if your not careful. But 1 to 2lb a week is a healthy aim.
Muscle you can only gain roughly around a pound a month of healthy weight, fat loss should be 2lb a week.
Get that right and enjoy looking after yourself and moving daily, and make smarter food choices. And you will start moving in the right direction.
It's not complicated, everyone knows when we eat crap, and we also know when we eat too much crap, reign it in bit by bit, and be conscious of movement.

I got a good protein source at each meal, cleaned up my diet (didn't make it perfect), moved more DAILY, and enjoyed looking after myself!!

Anyway, this was dinner, and it was good, about 10mins to make..
... Slightly more glutinous with the cheesy creamy texture but it's reduced fat cheese and the sauce is @fage total Greek yoghurt 0% fat...
Have a look at the ingredients, watch the wee 20second video if u want to hear a catchy tune... and give it a try.

What is the purpose of a goal??
To me this is highly misunderstand by most...
Most people set goals, and then become so stressed out that they might never reach the goal, or take every shortcut there is to reach it, never realising the goal itself should not be the goal.
... Why?
Because you still won't be happy when you reach it, we move the goalposts every single time!!!
The real goal is becoming better than you were before, it's about growth, about doing things you didn't know u could do.
What's my goal? To be successful!!
What does it mean in my eyes to be successful?
Is it the next fancy car? Which I got!! Is it a business? Which I got!! Is it money? Which is never enough!! What else could you add to this list?
If they were all goals... you'd consider those all successes!!
BUT!!!
Real success to me is the personal growth that comes with everything I set out to do... without that, the rest means nothing!!
So.... if your goal is only to get... your already losing!!!
Because you will never be happy by getting things, car,house,job,money, skinny,.... whatever!!!
Yes it'll fill some voids for a while, and keep you busy, but in the end, you will always be left wanting...
So let your goals be about what's in your head and heart and you'll soon find all those other things become insignificant...
I promise you right now!!
Yes go after all you ever want... but realise what's important!!

Chicken stir fry... about 8mins again.. done and dusted!!
Calorie content?? No idea.. not even guessing, but healthy serving of chicken, a load of vegetables, wee small pack of cashew nuts, and wee bit of oil to cook...
... Sure how far wrong could that be??!
And before anyone asks about the carbs... no rice or noodles or potatoes or whatever lol
I just didn't feel like it today lol😂😂
Are they bad.. nope, add a few in if ya want... and enjoy it.., just be mindful, It's not a license to stuff your face until your sick 😂🙈 Just a nice sized portion... if your thinking at all... jeez I'm pushing the limit here... u probably are.. 😂 or if you think.. jeez, thts not much.. then add in a little more.

So, here's what it is for me...
All of those things are of the ego...
The make us feel good or bad...!!
... Weight goes up, we hate ourselves, weight goes down, we "love" ourselves.
Same goes for measurements.
But we don't love ourselves... and the fact that we are out of shape is only the result!!
Worrying about any of those things is like putting a plaster on and hoping it gets better!!
I'm not saying it doesn't work, but it's obsessive and promotes unhealthy habits in my eyes!!
What if... you really could just love yourself, if there was a way to learn to. (I can show you)
You moved every day because you love yourself. If you just move every single day from 20mins to an hour... not obsess over time even.
Eat a healthy diet because you love yourself, mind, body and spirit. If u want to learn how to eat go check @the.sporty.dietitian page.. see the volume of food??? Non restrictive, non calorie counting, good whole nutritious foods. Balance!!!
You do more of that, daily and consistently and figure out the habits and self talk, self love thing... and I promise you right now...
YOUR WEIGHT AND MEASUREMENTS and whatever the f**k else you want to control... Will soon sort themselves out!!
And do it progressively, listen to your body... it tells you fairly quickly in the space of a day or 2 what's working or not working!!
And hydrate... food is only 20% of the body make up... the rest fluid... ffs drink your water!!😂😭🙈
And sleep... with all of this... it'll improve.
There is no force, only acceptance, self love and a new flow state... healthy, happy, and everything else we all want.
It's time to just be healthier, fitter, stronger, more loving to ourselves across the board.
And THAT....
THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE, FOR LIFE!!!

Would definitely recommend to anybody looking to get in shape or get started in the gym to go here as i was definitely not one to ever go to the gym and from going twice in 5 years to going twice a week I have never felt better. He's great personal trainer and very dedicated to his work as even though when I first started I was after surgery on my knee and couldn't weight bare he was able to give me plenty to work on while helping me with my physio so I can't thank him enough and would advise anybody that's looking get in shape and enjoy doing it call down and get started you'll not regret it.

Went to Matthew with a unbelievably sore shoulder! Took some time asked me some questions to find out what the problem was and then got stuck in.

Very good, explained everything that he was doing and why he was doing it and nothing was too much or a rush! Great guy providing a top class service

Booking was simple, locataion easy to find. Parking no problem and the treatment room very clean, warm and relaxing. I went to matthew as I was experiencing lower back pain and I have to say that i have never met a more lovely and professional guy! I had been putting it off for a while, but Matthew made me feel at ease as soon as i walked through door and thanks to him my back feels great ! I would highly recommend him!

He has taught me loads about weight training and nutrition and I can now confidently go to the gym myself and generate my own workout plan. I actually love going to the gym now as I get so much more out of it. My fitness is better, my body composition has changed and i can lift well over 100kg which is something I thought I could never do! In regards to the massage, Matthew does a great job. After a massage my muscles feel less tired and lighter which means I can get back to lifting heavily and cycling faster. It is worth the pain-i promise!! If you're thinking about PT sessions or massage, please give Matthew a chance. He's very knowledgeable and can adapt his advice to suit you. It has been well worth it!

I got the sports massage on both legs a while back now. It felt amazing right away but I wanted to wait a while to right a review to make sure that it really was as good as I first thought. I had a clicking in my knee which had been getting sore and bothering me for about a year. I had different treatments before going to Matthew that didn’t work and after a half hour session with this guy the clicking and pain had gone and has stayed away. Matthew was really friendly and made me feel welcome and very comfortable. I would highly recommend him.

I have never missed a session since starting with him in June and his encouragement and advice on exercise, nutrition and lifestlye changes has been paramount to me feeling so much better and receiving wonderful compliments!! �. I got my first sports massage last week with him and although there was no chance of falling asleep or feeling relaxed lol.. Not sure what I was in for, Matthew quickly put me at ease and explained every step and why he was working on certain muscles. Extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Definitely not the most relaxing massage ever lol however the benefits of it within 24 hours are amazing! Already booked in for my next one, would highly recommend Matthew to anyone with any pains or aches!

I got the sports massage on both legs a while back now. It felt amazing right away but I wanted to wait a while to right a review to make sure that it really was as good as I first thought. I had a clicking in my knee which had been getting sore and bothering me for about a year. I had different treatments before going to Matthew that didn’t work and after a half hour session with this guy the clicking and pain had gone and has stayed away. Matthew was really friendly and made me feel welcome and very comfortable. I would highly recommend him.

Had my 1st sports massage on Saturday and i have to say it was first class. I have suffered back pain for years and had recently started having neck pain too. Matthew had me sorted in no time and 2days later both my neck and back pain are gone completely!! Couldn’t recommend you highly enough Matthew, thanks a million� i will definitely be back!!

Coming from someone who was never near a gym (except passing one on the way to a nice restaurant) I can't recommend Matthew McGrath highly enough. He is professional, patient and he eats sleeps and breathes fitness and wellbeing and his personal training style suits me perfectly. I have never missed a session since starting with him in June and his encouragement and advice on exercise, nutrition and lifestlye changes has been paramount to me feeling so much better and receiving wonderful compliments!! �. I got my first sports massage last week with him and although there was no chance of falling asleep or feeling relaxed lol.. I definitely felt an improvement with aches and muscle pains I have been experiencing for quite a while...so yes I will definitely be going for another one....God help me lol. So don't hesitate to contact him and get started on your journey..you won't regret it !!
