Ever wondered why you have a knee cap or what it’s function is? πŸ€” Probably not! but this is cool, so let me explain.. πŸ€“
Your knee cap (patella) sits over your knee joint and is one of very few β€˜floating’ bones in your body. It is where the quadriceps muscle (thigh) attaches into and allows your knee to extend.
... Put simply, your patella increases the moment lever at your knee meaning you have more mechanical advantage and a stronger knee!
Look at how much more the leg moves when the knee cap is in place even tho the same effort is being used.
We can actually manage without a knee cap but trust me, they are worth looking after!

Had a few people in recently who have been taking advantage of the nice weather and getting stuck into those DIY jobs. Does power washing, hedge cutting, painting, gardening sound familiar?
... Just right to be out in the sunshine, make the most of it! Our bodies are strong and resilient structures and thrive on being worked hard but just remember these top tips to minimise any aches and pains:
1. Don’t stay in the same position for too long. For example, if you are painting above head make sure you regularly change positions so your not holding your arms up and extending your neck for more than 10 minutes at a time
2. Take regular breaks. Try not to be working at the same thing for any longer than 30mins without taking a short break, even just nipping inside to get a glass of water (keep the beer for later) is enough to give the body a chance to recover.
3. Stretch it out. Take some time when you are finished to do a few very simple stretches - this allows those muscles that have been working hard all day a chance to reduce the tension that has gathered and reduce any soreness.
4. Book an appointment! If you are dealing with any niggles or tightness, book in for a consultation to address any issues to prevent them stopping you having fun in the sun β˜€οΈ

Ive been in a couple of bad car crashes, and had various other injuries to my back. I have been in excruciating pain for the past 6-12 months.

Have been going to Andy now for the past 3 months. And the wonders he has worked on my back has given me more mobility than ive had in the past few years. Alot of muscle twitches and spasms have been reduced considerably.

Andy has given me much needed relief, and advice. I would definatly recommend Andys services to anyone in need of some help and relief.

I went to see Andy in early June suffering from limited movement on the right side of my neck and considerable pain which travelled down my right arm.I am truly delighted with the results in that I am now pain free and have full movement in my neck. Great work. Andy worked on my shoulder at a kayaking world championships.

After an injury at the event. He kept me going and was able to offer great advice. Was lucky to have him available.
