We went to the castle grounds this morning for a walk and my little girl lost her little teddy roar. We searched everywhere and she was beside herself. We went to reception and the lady couldn't be anymore helpful. She radioed out and had people looking for the teddy and thank goodness he was found. We have a very happy little girl that he was found. Cannot thank the staff enough xxxx
We spent the weekend in Sixmilewater caravan park. There is so much to do in this area, but the house, castle & gardens are the jewel in the crown.
Can't recommend highly enough.
This is our local park which we have been going to since the children were small. (They are all grown up now) It is fabulous to see and be part of the changes over the years. We have met and become friends with people whom we have met while walking Alfie. Such a wonderful asset on our door step!!
The gardens are very well kept and the walks down by the river lovely. A great day out and the weather made it even better. Sunshine and 24c!!
Really great place to go to for the day. So much to see and do for all ages. The kids just love rambling through all the ruins, tunnels and through the trees. It's a truly magical place
Nice coffee and scone at the cafe. The garden is lovely with the river flowing freely to Lough Neagh. The grounds are fantastic for walking and strolling. There is a shop and exhibition room for a wee nosy.
If your like gardens, walking and coffee, then this is the place for you. Walk around the large Parterre or watch events at the Pavilion. follow the paths to the Long Canals, Yew Tree Pond, onto the Site of Antrim Castle and Motte, then cross the Deerpark Bridge and follow the path to Lough Neagh then back to the Garden Coffee Shop for some refreshments and relax in the courtyard. Well worth a visit.
I used to go there when i was a little girl and now i Love going down with my little one.. its very relaxing to walk around the grounds. Great place and looks really well :)
I absolutely love this place, beautiful walks and lovely coffee shop. But please, for the love of God, get in some larger to go coffee cups! The to go cups are tiny, I bought a cappuccino this morning and it felt like I had bought a tiny cup of air! And an expensive one at that! Please please please for the love of God and all things good, just get in some larger to go cups - mamma needs her coffee!!!! 👍👍👍
I absolutely love this place for long walks with the family or for a run. The cafeteria has nice selection of food and cakes, and the toilets are very clean. The little shop and the exhibition are worth a visit. Highly recommended!
Haven't done the walk from the marina to the castle in a long time but it's a lovely walk along the river side and we brought our dog out with us to the coffee shop is a nice setting and dogs are welcome, we were outside in the courtyard as it was a lovely warm day! We'll be back soon definitely
Fantastic place for a family. My 8yr old was obsessed with all the available pokemon stops whilst i was able to take in the history of the area. The place was packed out with overflow car park in operation. Cafe first rate as well.
Absolutely Fabulous ❤️ Gardens look amazing, was great to see so many people from all over the place come to visit. Hats off to the Council fantastic job 👌🏽
We liked it as the pipe bands, and the lovely gardens, u can walk around, the kids liked it, but there needs to be more parking up at the place for blue badges people, one that has kids as it a long walk
It was a great day lots of things on the kids and they was all free, they had a big marquee with tables and chairs under it, which was good because it rained For most of the day but my boys didn't care
A very enjoyable afternoon with the grandchildren. Lots of space for them to run and explore. Only downside paths very mucky and the walk around the mound and waterways also very mucky. Could do with additional stones put down. Shoes were a terrible state when we got back to car.
Really enjoyed the walk and the grandchildren got to run about. My reason for 3 stars is the public toilets. The regular ones are being renovated and four portaloos were available. It was obvious that no-one checks them and only one of them was clean enough to use. I know this is down to the people who use them, I mean who tries to put nappies down a toilet and blocks it. But since this Marina and walk into castle gardens is widely used, checks on these toilets should be done.
Lovely setting - staff in cafe were not friendly - just seemed disinterested. Floor had not been swept so looked untidy. And February should not be really one if busiest times of year. But we will go back later in year - hopefully it will be better
Absolutely love the gardens. Really nice day although I did find the lack of security a problem. People where in sittin at the marquee before the event even opened due to fact there was no security on the gates to prevent this. Also I witnessed a gentleman coming off his bike yesterday and not one member of staff came near him even though there were 2 members of the security team leaning on barriers directly opposite the man. It turns out the man had surgery on his ankle too which is even more reason it should have been recorded as an incident. That said was a good weekend day. Just a pity the rain wouldn't stay away
