Aqua Dog Hydrotherapy And Recreational Centre Description

Aqua Dog seeks to give you and your canine the best possible experience. We work constantly to find new ways to improve the service we provide. Hydrotherapy is extremely beneficial for the anatomy of the dog and helps recovery and prevention of injuries.
It can also be used for fun and as general good exercise to lose weight or reduce stress.
The owner can stay poolside at all times and can help encourage their furry friend to swim. One of our trained hydrotherapists will always be in the water with your dog at all times. Dogs will be fitted with a life jacket and aided into the pool via ramp access. After the session your pet is treated to a wash and blow dry to get rid of the chlorine and have them going home all cuddly and fresh.

This is Mac testing out the new pool platform we have now 🐢 We have been waiting patiently to have a pool platform as it is a great tool for therapy. This is his first time on it so we just wanted to make sure he was comfortable and aware of it before we tried any therapy on it. After all, we need to ensure dogs are comfortable and we aren't forcing them. β€’ All of our staff are fully qualified and trained in "static style therapy" where we look at where dogs are shifting the...ir weight to, off-loading limbs or even not placing their limbs correctly. We can encourage dogs and help build their confidence through helping them to stand with the support of the water (bouyancy) and also encourage blood flow and tissue healing. It is easier to stand in water than it is on land after all. β€’ This platform will be a great tool at helping dogs regain their confidence after surgeries or injuries. It will also help with dogs that may be afraid of the water as it is a good way to get them comfortable before taking them out of their depth. β€’ Another benefit we have is with complex cases we can have 2 or more staff supporting dogs, regardless of size or breed, on the platform. We are super excited to start helping more dogs with more in-depth and tailored therapy.

Aqua Dog is so pleased to say that we will be attending the pet Expo Belfast Belfast Telegraph Pet Expo 2019. Hydrotherapist Luke will be at stall 23 to help discuss the many amazing benefits of hydrotherapy and also be there to meet and greet lots of different animals because that's what you do at pet shows πŸ˜‚
Amy from @AKT Vet Physio will also be there discussing physiotherapy. Both will be able to promote the advantages of using a mulit-modal approach to everything from reh...abilitation, general well-being and health of dogs.
Senior Hydrotherapist Joanne recently gave an interview to the Belfast Telegraph about the story of Aqua Dog.

Little Sprocket was in for some rehab following spinal surgery πŸ• In our spinal cases we try to do a mixture of swimming and work on our ramp to help build confidence standing, shifting weight and of course cuddles! β€’ A lot of our work can be primarily on the ramp when we are helping dogs build up their awareness and confidence in themselves to stand or weight shift correctly. This aspect is very important after any spinal operation to ensure little Sprocket is moving the best way he can🐢 GO SPROCKET #aquatherapy #aquadogs #caninerehab #caninehydrotherapy #daschundsofig #daschunds #daschundsofinstagram #hydrotherapyfordogs #swimmingdogs #rehab #canine

Please read the post below , if interested pm the page with your details
A friends daughter has had to move out of her house into emergency accommodation as her land lord is selling up. Blaze is not allowed to live in the emergency accommodation but is currently there and mostly confined to a cage (which isn't fair!) Blaze is a 1 year old collie and we are looking for help/advice to get Blaze into a happier situation and out of the cage.

Meet Florence πŸ• β€’ Florence is just one of the many spinal cases we have had in this year. She has excelled in her rehab following spinal surgery and has done so well with her hydro πŸ’ͺ β€’ Florence went from being very weak and wobbly to being a confident and strong dog once again! In her time with us so far Florence has met team dog Hunter and even scared team dog Judah! πŸ˜‚... β€’ We are still helping Florence but she continues to make huge progress thanks to her awesome owners who are so committed to her well-being! β€’ Go Florence πŸ•πŸ’ͺ #aquadogs #rehab #daschunds #caninehydrotherapy #hydrotherapyfordogs #daschundsofig #littledogs #bestjobever #dogrehab #rehabfordogs
