Armagh Cathedral Description

The Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Saint Patrick, Armagh.
The Primatial Church of All Ireland was established by the National Apostle who decreed her pre-eminence over all other churches. The seat of the Archbishop of Armagh, successor of Saint Patrick, who is the Ordinary, as he is throughout his diocese.

The Cathedral is governed by the Dean, assisted by the Precentor, Chancellor, Treasurer, Archdeacon and four Prebendaries. There is a College of Vicars Choral and Organist, clerical and lay, founded by King Charles I as successors of the Culdees. It was a chartered body until disestablishment in 1870.
