City of Armagh Rugby Club will host a Festival of Mini Rugby to celebrate Dr Rory Best OBE’s Freedom of the Borough on Sat 8th September, 10am-12pm, Palace Grounds, Armagh.
Mini Rugby teams from across the borough and neighbours made up of primary 5, 6 and 7 school children will participate in the festival including Portadown Panthers who will play an exhibition match at 10am followed by teams from City of Armagh Rugby Club, Banbridge RFC, Dromore Rugby Club, Lurgan Rugby Club, Portadown Rugby Football Club, Dungannon Rugby Football Club and Monaghan Rugby Club

Rory Best Rugby Memorabilia Exhibition will open at the Palace, Armagh on Fri 31 Aug, 7-9pm. Some of the most historic & memorable items from the world of rugby will be on display to mark Dr Rory Best OBE’s conferment of the Freedom of the Borough.
The exhibition will include the match ball from the Ireland rugby team’s historic win over the New Zealand All Blacks in Chicago in 2016; Rory’s shirt from the Six Nations Championship Grand Slam winning game against England in 2018; the boots worn by the hooker on his 200th cap for Ulster in 2017 and his captain’s shirt from the Lions game against the Chiefs on the tour of New Zealand in 2017.
