Meet Alfie!
Alfie is a 5 year old Great Dane! He has captured the hearts of the staff and volunteers at the sanctuary due to his loveable personality! He loves his walks and exercise but also loves lounging about with his favourite people. Alfie will need a home with no other pets as he prefers to be the centre of attention! If you are interested in this cracking dog then please call up to the sanctuary and fill out a rehoming application from.

Meet Smokie!
She is a lovely 4 year old Akita. Smokie is a relaxed dog who has been doing really well with the staff at the sanctuary. She loves getting out for walks and exploring in the fields. She would do well with teenagers however she would be too much for younger kids. Any potential adopters must have large breed experience. If you are interested please call up to the sanctuary and fill out an application form.

We currently have a lot of unimpressed cats who are particularly fussy eaters 🙄! Unfortunately we are running VERY low on tasty/ fancy pouches, and some of our residents are refusing to eat our usual whiskas/felix!
We have a lot of cats who require these fancy things to take their medicine 💔
... Our guys sure do know what they like and would be ever so grateful if anyone could donate a few tasty pouches like those pictured.... the kitties say purr-ty please!

Calling all quiz buffs! A couple of our fab supporters are holding a quiz night to raise funds for Assisi, why not come along and have some fun for a good cause!

Our Banish The Blues event on Friday 1st was a wonderful success, with lots of fun and pampering! Huge thanks go to the girls from SERC Bangor hair and beauty department for their fantastic treatments, Bangor Golf Club for the room, Clarins at Boots, Kiehls at Victoria Square, and The Perfume Shop at Bloomfield for raffle prizes and goody bags, Kerry at Tropic Skincare for the raffle prize and stall on the night, Rhonda Thompson for the hampers, Sanctuary receptionist Suzie for the hair demos, and Joan Cochrane for organising the whole event! We raised an amazing £706!! Thank you to all who attended, we hope it was a great night!

Shabba is a stunning black shepherd! She is about 2 years old and was originally from the pound. From our assessments, she could live with older teens and a more settled adult dog.
She will need someone who is experienced with Shepherd's and also an active home where she will get enough exercise and mental stimulation to keep her happy.
If you can offer Shabba an active home please come down and have a chat with the staff about her.

🐰🐰Lark and Rumer are two lovely English Spot X’s. Lark is a neutered male, and Rumer is a spayed female. Both buns are approximately 5/6 months old now. Lark is more speckled on his back than Rumer is. They are both vaccinated up to date, and are ready to go to their forever home! A lot of socialization is required for these two, as they are still young, and are not yet 100% used to human interaction. Rumer has been known to give a little nip if she doesn’t like something. Th...ey are both able to live inside or outside in appropriately sized accommodation. They love to explore and run about, paying particular attention to new toys which they love to chew. Like any bun we recommend these two get checked every 6 months by a vet, to ensure teeth, eyes, ears etc. are kept on top of. If you feel you could offer Lark and Rumer a loving interactive home, please call up to the sanctuary, speak to the staff and fill out an application form! Re-homing Hours: Tues – Sun 11am – 3pm

My name is Shara I am on older lady who is looking for a very quiet retirement home. My favourite thing of all time is food, you can hear me at breakfast and dinner time reminding the staff its food time. I can live with older children but no other pets because i have a mobility problem. If you would like to meet me please call up to the sanctuary Tuesday-Sunday 11-3.

This stunning girl is Peggy! She is a 6 year old bearded collie mix and as you can see she only has 3 legs due to a severe trauma early in life, but that doesn't stop her from chasing after a ball. she enjoys the company of other settled dogs and children but can be shy and timid when meeting new people and specifically men due to a bad start in her life.
If you feel you can offer Peggy the forever home she deserves please come up to the sanctuary and speak to the staff.

These amazing young supporters are Molly age 7 and Holly age 10 who, along with Mollys brother Jake age 10, ran a juice and biscuit stall to raise money to buy lots of lovely treats for our animals! We would like to extend our sincere thanks to them all, we are very grateful! #assisikids #assisisupportersarethebest

We seem to have run out of newspapers for our puppies and bunnies!! If you have any that you dont need anymore, we would much appreciate them!😄

Her first few hours at home have consisted of nothing less than a short walk around the block through the grass, a nice snuggle on the sofa, a delicious dinner and plenty of conversation for the criac.



Staff have us well informed of her insecurities and medical issues and this just makes us love her more!

We needed a new family member and Poppy needed a loving family. We all have a past, its what you can do in the future that counts....

We got our Jack few mths back from your shelter and his background was sad but still we fell in love with him. He still had a few issues and you guys were great in arranging for Caroline to come out to our home for hours to work with him. He is completely transformed into the most loving dog ever. He and our other dog Arty are the best of pals and we are so happy with them both and wouldn't be without them. Can't thank you enough.

You all do amazing work xx

The staff here where nothing but helpful and so friendly! I could not say a single bad word about this place. You can see the passion driving these people to look after the animals wellbeing. Plus we got discounted pet insurance and a free month as well. We have full records of everything to do with our cat and know the full backstory to here as well.

I was filled with happiness today visiting the cattery at Assisi... I thought an animal sanctuary would be very sad, although some of the cats past stories are sad all of the cats are now so content & so well looked after! thank you to Diane for just being wonderful! An amazing place � definitely the place to go to give an animal your love & home!

I could not have went to a better place to find a dog to make our house a home. The re-homing process was super quick, very professional and everything was in the best interest of our dog. Thank you for helping us give our dog a forever home and making her very happy.

I can’t recommend Assisi enough , my wee dog Leo died aged 11 in March this year , my dad whose 84 missed the daily walks with him almost as much as I missed him.

So after a few months we went to Assisi, the staff just seemed to completely understand our needs and fears , one week later after a few visits we bought home our wee Beau , i cannot tell how much Love and fun he has bought into our lives . We will never forget our Leo but Beau has bought Back the love and laughter and helped heal our hearts

Thank you for all the work you do , it’s obvious how much you car for all the animals

I adopted two young kittens yesterday and was so so nervous incase they wouldn't settle in. Its been 24 hours and toby and tiddles are already apart of the family. Im urging everyone to please adopt from the assisi or any rescue centre. The process is quick and you are helping a charitable cause that isn't government funded!!

Got our 3 amazing crazy babies from assisi almost 2 years ago & they have filled our lives full of mischief & happiness, the staff were absolutely fantastic & very thorough in all their checks they rehomed a wee family with us who had been treated badly & wer so scared, we wer able to keep them all together & the change in them now is wonderful, just shows what a little bit of time & love can do, thank you for helping to make our wee family complete x

Fantastic experience all round from start to finish. You are incredible. Keep it up. And thank you for helping us give our gorgeous girl the home she deserves.

Adopt, don’t shop. Assisi where so professional and have the animals best interests at heart all the time. I would urge anyone thinking of parenting an animal to rescue before buying. We rescued sushi, now Holly in November and we can’t remember life without her. She has brought us so much joy and love and we are forever indebted to Assisi for their wonderful services all year around x

Adopt don't shop! We got my wonderful dog Pepsi as a puppy from assisi had him for 19 years :) we have now just adopted wonderful peanut from Assisi a month ago

Please adopt as its best option— we brought home a gorgeous 7mth old cockapoo now named Cooper and he’s just the best thing ever— can’t recommend Assisi enough ( their staff and checks are so important) to rehome pups with the right family ��

Called at the weekend to look at the doggies...fell in love with Pixi...asked 2 different members of staff about her and how she would be around children...both said there would be no issues...yes Pixi had 1 booking on her but it's my understanding you can have 2...I filled in the form and waited for ages to be told a pup would suit us better?!! Why was this not said at the beginning?! Also pixi's breed is known to be good with children yet I wasn't told of her background of the reasoning behind their decision...wasn't happy with how it was dealt with and explained!!

Went to look at the German Shepard pups after ringing about them this morning and being told that any time before 3 would be okay I made my way over and got there for 12.30 to then be told that I need to fill in a form, I decided to look at the pups first. After looking at the I made my way down to fill in a form to be told that I couldn't have one.Waste of time and a waste of fuel

Rang yday bout the gs pups not very helpful awful customer service. No wonder the place and others like this are full of beautiful dogs and decent people cant get a dog. I understand that they have to be careful about who they give dogs to but they could do it alot nicer..espically for people living a few hours away there should be an online form to fill in
