Today our Autism NI Newry & Mourne Support Group host the second week of Balanceability for a group of ‘wheelie great children’.
The six week course provides a safe and fun space to learn a lifelong skill alongside their peers.
Learning to cycle will help increase social inclusion, enhanced co-ordination and balance, improved communication and encourage a healthier lifestyle.

This December we’re offering local schools the opportunity to carol sing in CastleCourt Belfast to help raise funds for Autism NI. The carol singing will take place from 28th November until 20th December. FREE YOUTH DRAMA COURSE In association with Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Autism NI are offering our members FREE Youth Drama Course as part of the 'Love Living Here' project. The Course is held every Tuesday between the 16th of October and the 20th of November from 6pm to 8pm at Lilian Bland Pavilion. Autism NI would like to congratulate Nathan Pierson who won the regional Pride of Britain award today for his outstanding fundraising efforts for the Mourne Mountain Rescue Team. Nathan who has Autism, has raised tens of thousands of pounds for this brave group of volunteers so well done to Nathan aka ‘Supernat’, we salute you!

Congratulations to the Abbeycentre on achieving the Autism Impact Award! Through recent training with Autism NI, the centre made some changes including new downloadable resources that consumers can use such as pre-visit guides, shopping lists and a centre layout map. The centre has also introduced a regular Sensory Friendly Shopping Hour every Monday 5pm – 6pm and Sensory Packs to loan which contain ICE (in case of emergency) wristbands available to hire from Customer Services.
