Went for the 3 course Easter Sunday offer with a cocktail for £26. It was unbelievable value, food was unreal and the cocktails were out of this world! Would totally recommend!

User

We had the pleasure of being here today..what a fantastic place right in the heart of the city. From the minute we entered we were made to feel welcome, staff our friendly, well turned out and very knowledgeable about there food and drinks, which I must say are definitely worth the visit,I had “The Babel” cocktail and it was absolutely out of this world!...We had the sliders from the small plates menu, they were amazing. The views from the outside terraces, are fantastic, even the lift had a bit of the “The old Belfast charm”,will definitely be back and will be recommending to all my friends and family...definitely worth 5 stars

User

Was here for afternoon drinks with work friends...not too busy for a thursday afternoon...nice vibe...good cocktails...outside seating very nice in this weather...will definitely be back..

User

Had the most gorgeous tipsy tea yesterday with a group of friends.

The sandwiches were gorgeous and the wee desserts were so delicious.

Value for money was amazing, as we didn’t expect to get three cocktails for the price.

Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

User

Excellent customer service, fast and efficient...great setting, even better cocktails. Highly recommend.

User

Came here for late lunch and drinks! Food was really nice very tasty! Cocktails were really good. Will def be back next time I’m in Belfast.

User

Beautiful surroundings teamed with the nicest cocktails around- what more could you ask for! Thoroughly enjoyed a three course meal here recently and was blown away by the food, decor and customer service!

User

really loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious i will be back very soon for food. kimchi fries are a must. only downside, cocktails are a bit expensive (merchant prices) i know they are trying to be exclusive but you can get the same very close by for less- we enjoyed our food before moving on for drinks elsewhere.

User

Staff very accommodating and no problems getting in though it was 5pm. Too often I’ve had issues gaining entry to places including some of BIll’s other establishments. Not the case this time maybe the down-to-earth aussies working in the place has something to do with it drinks a bit too expensive but sill a great place to hang out for a while

User

Staff lovely, had visitors and we called in for a drink, no room inside so we sat in beer garden. Brrrrrr freezing.

Blankets over back of seats for customer use would be a great asset, we may had another drink if that had been the case. Girl on front desk in hall was very welcoming and friendly.

I was dying to try the new restaurant roof top bar and today was the day. (Saturday lunchtime).

We were met in the ground floor by a very friendly Canadian greeter who showed us towards the lift after thoroughly recommending the prawn dish (I wish we’d taken her advice).

The rooftop bar wasn’t open so we were shown into the Belvedere Bar. A bar with an outside terrace for those hardy enough to brave the Belfast wind. A heater was provided.

The service was as you’d expect very good and very friendly. The views are amazing and if the decor was a little underwhelming it was still an extremely nice place to be.

It loses a point because the Halloumi deep fried in batter was very over-cooked and far too dry so the cheese was undetectable and I got a gin and tonic rather than the Prosecco cocktail I thought I was getting (it was delicious, so not a problem).

We were escorted to see the roof top bar - it was locked - and it looked great. I’ll definitely be trying it. It’s another great addition to the great bars and restaurants in Belfast and was a pleasure to visit.

User

What a beautiful setting with so much potential. I had heard some poor reviews but decided to go and find out for myself. The interior is lovely with great views. This was somewhat let down by the fact that they dimmed the lights too early and we could hardly see at one point!

The service left a lot to be desired. We were seen to quickly but as I was taking a call my friend ordered we asked them to come back in a couple of minutes for mine. 10 minutes later (approx 7 staff) and no one appeared. I went to the bar to order, my drink was brought quickly but my friends still hadn’t arrived so had to reorder. We found this happened over our whole visit and it was really frustrating. We wanted to order some nibbles but no olives etc were available. At a tenner a cocktail we could have been in the Merchant with proper table service and complimentary nibbles.

Overall if the service improves I think it will be a lovely spot as the drinks were delicious!

User

Lovely bar and fab staff. I will definitely go back BUT NOT FOR FOOD.

Outside was very cold and windy. All that cash spent on consultancy and bad ideas with roof not low enough to keep in heat and a vented fence with the wind whistling through. I can’t see winter being the jewel in the crown here this year, at least outside. Summer should be great!

We loved the venue and service.

Drinks too expensive, that doesn’t tend to work well in NI, look at Shiro!!

Food.......far to greasy and flavourless. Sounded good but all deep fried rubbish. I’m sorry!! But if the tapas and light bites are researched and hugely improved I would be happy to try again. Many great small dishes and sharing platters are out there so go research them!! The fried dropped grease down your face, as did the coconut chicken and the halloumi managed to blend itself into an odd disinfectant flavour. Please sort the food!!

This place just needs a work around on that food and keeping heat in the main roof garden and it could be a staple venue for years to come.

I have over 15 years in the industry and that’s the best feedback I think to give on our experience.

Lovely place and great staff!!

User

I was there for a work BBQ, meat was very chewy & pretty tasteless. Bearing in mind we were in quite a big group, area we were in only had tables suitable for 2 people. So we were spread out around the room.

User

Myself and husband decided to try Babel for the first time on Saturday the day of the BBQ, I think everyone else in Belfast had the same idea, by 5 o’clock when we arrived the place was badly over crowded the bar was a joke, after waiting 20mins trying to get served and other people with no manners trying to push in front of you, we turned on our heel and left very disappointed. Not enough bar staff on I only counted 3!

I thought this place would be about quality not quantity. Personally I won’t be in a hurry to go back if it’s let’s try and pack as many people in as possible, absolutely no pleasure in that.

User

I love the Bullit Hotel itself and the lovely vibe in the hotel but I am sorry to say that the Roof Garden experience was not what I had hoped for and I wont' be rushing back. I found the door staff to be perfectly lovely, pleasant, welcoming and not at all intimidating as some door staff in Belfast venues can be. However, the bar staff I found to be somewhat aloof and not particularly friendly. I had quite a long wait at the bar for my drinks order, primarily because I appeared invisible to the bar staff, presumably because I am a 40 something lady and not a lovely trendy young thing and the bar staff served these young ladies ahead of me on two occasions, plus the barman then went to serve a gentleman who had only approached the bar and I found myself having to "stick up" for myself and tell him that I was in front of this man, then I had to deal with the "gentleman" arguing that I in fact was not in front of him. The bar man did at this point decide to serve me. So all in all it wasn't an experience I will be in a hurry to repeat anytime soon.

User

Decided to give Babel a visit on Saturday night for a friend's birthday. Wouldn't rush back! Service awful, 40 minute wait for a basic beer and wine order and after asking once where our order was and a cheeky response from the waiter I'll be taking my custom elsewhere. The food alright, very small portions and they charge extra for a thimbleful of rice so not worth the money. Seems to be more a place just to be seen, they obviously aren't serious about providing a genuine dining experience or any sort of customer service. Ps check the toilets Babel seems to be some serious amount of white powder and not talc

User

Booked table at Babel for my friend’s birthday but despite the beautiful surroundings, I was very disappointed in service, customer service and my Thai Green Curry which had no flavour (I even tried salt and I never put salt on my food) Our first drinks, the order was wrong, we waited ages on our food and 2nd drinks order, we had to ask twice with the waitress sounding like this was a chore! She even responded to my friend’s request for Kopparberg that they didn’t serve alcopops!! Found her to have no interest in serving our table and we had to ask for dessert menu! Difficult to find someone to help. V disappointed.

Due to a provincial and Dickensian door policy, it appears only cookie cutter clones wearing 'smart' H&M trousers and Shoe Zone plastic shoes are able to take the elevator to this supposed 'urban oasis'. Oafish, condescending and plebian door staff don't help matters. I was refused entry because of supposedly wearing, 'track bottoms' which in fact were Maharishi limited edition embroidered trousers. I would expect to find a similar poor policy in a some second rate motel in a far-flung developing country and not a Belfast city centre hotel that claims to cater to a stylish, urban and eclectic crowd. A word of caution to the more discerning locals and visitors to Belfast, you might want to reconsider heading to Babel.
