On the downside, this is our last ever day in Ards and last ever Saturday in Bangor. On the upside, we're gonna party hard tonight!

As I wait for Jonny Gillespie to come in reliably early for his last shift, I ponder that many marriages don't last as long as his time with us at Babettes. Sad times:(

User

Oh if you have a shareable memory of 20 years of Good Food Emporium or Babettes, feel free to make our last week special.

User

On the last week of Babettes Ards, here's an Emporium memory.. 5 of us behind a busy counter. "Where's the chorizo?" "It's up Doreen's end". How the simple things made us roar. Dee Galway

Thanks for all your kind comments!! We're all a wee bit nervous about closing but...we're on a big countdown. You only have 15 days left to get your personal favourite in Ards and 20 days left in Bangor! If you have any final soup requests, go for it. Today we have Italian tomato in Ards and Creamy Celeraic & Bacon in Bangor.

We've been a little quiet of late on facebook as we've been brewing some news! We've tried to tell as many of you coming in as possible and its now time to make sure you all know what's happening. We have sold our business in Bangor. I will link you to the new owners later so that you can see that there is an exciting future ahead. Meantime, we are very sad to leave all of our friends in Bangor. We have been here for 10 years and through the highs and lows we have a treasur...y of memories and have had many many laughs. We plan to wind up by the end of February and we will be announcing our next plan over the next week but if you have a need for a Tikka Melt Surprise of if the Royal Avenue is your poison, maybe it would be a good idea to satisfy your craving soon. With love and thanks...Jackie and team xx. Bear with us and watch this space for more news to follow...

Its that time of year again...so here is our contribution to make your life a little bit easier!
Tequila Christmas Cake
1 cup sugar, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 cup water, 1 tsp. salt , 1 cup brown sugar, Lemon juice, 4 large eggs, Nuts, 1 bottle tequila, 2 cups dried fruit.
... Sample a cup of tequila to check quality . Take a large bowl, check the tequila again to be sure it is of the highest quality then Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point, it is best to make sure the tequila is still OK. Try another cup just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 eegs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Pick the fruit up off the floor, wash it and put it in the bowl a piece at a time trying to count it. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit getas stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose with a drewscriver Sample the tequila to test for tonsisticity. Next, sift 2 cups of salt, or something. Check the tequila. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window. Finish the tequila and wipe the counter with the cat..... :)
