BWNI is a not-for-profit group that's been running for 9 years. The group is run by qualified and caring Carrying Consultants Claire, Rebecca & Beth.
All the library hire fees go straight back into the group. This allows us to reach more families and provide greater support to the families that use our service. Our Carrying Consultants are not paid for their time or skills, they are volunteers.
This means that we can focus on providing services such as our 'Sweet Beginnings' ...initiative - where we are offer free stretchy hire for 4 weeks, for babies 12 weeks and under.
Carrying your newborn is important, vital even. They want to be carried, to be held. It's absolutely normal behaviour for a human infant. Using a sling keeps your baby safe and secure and you have your hands free. You are bonding, building a deep and lasting relationship. Stretchy wraps are respectful of newborn physiology and offer great support for you too. Why not come along, see how they work and be shown how to use one by an experienced, caring Carrying Consultant.

Our new Gentle Parenting Support Group!
We are launching this group in conjunction with Bumps, Birth and Bonding & Gentle Parenting Ireland to bring you a parenting support group that offers the skills of all three groups.
This Friday, the 10.30 expert talk will come from Rebecca of @bumpsbirthbonding.
... Just like our regular slingmeets, this group is for everyone, from pregnancy and birth onwards.
There are 4 x 15 minute Mini Sling Consultations available at these times: 10.10am (x 2) 11.10am 11.40am The mini Consultations are £5 and a perfect opportunity if: you have your own sling that you’d like help with or if you’d like extended 1:1 time with a carrying consultant. Please book a slot by commenting on this post.
Our regular slingmeet will also run alongside, for babies of all ages and stages. This group will be a fantastic place to meet other parents, try slings and carriers and also hire them; our library is extensive, with options available from newborn to preschool. It's somewhere to talk about anything related to babywearing and parenting.

LISBURN SLINGMEET FRIDAY 7TH FEBRUARY <3
We're really hoping to see lots of you there! Our sling and carrier selection is fantastic; there are lots of options available to hire from newborn through to preschool.
As well as the usual amazing sling advice, we'll also have a Library Collection - books on carrying and natural/gentle parenting. Feel free to read and peruse at your leisure while have a cuppa and a chat.
... Babywearing NI meets are attended by Professional Carrying Consultants. There will be cake and buns, carrying information and lots of chat, 10am-12noon.
BWNI is Northern Ireland's group for families who carry/want to carry their babies. We are a support group more than anything; somewhere to try slings and hire slings; somewhere to talk about anything related to baby carrying (or not as is often the case!).
The only cost we ask for at the meets is £3 per family, to cover room hire only.
Tea, coffee and buns are all provided free. BWNI is run by volunteers - no-one is paid for their time. It's relaxed, informal and a jolly good laugh! Hope to see lots of you there - partners and older children welcome too!

It was lovely to meet you all at our first Gentle Parenting Support Group yesterday. Lots of 4th trimester talk; sling advice; carrying twins & feeding on the go in a sling - we mentioned this video yesterday which demos feeding in a ring sling, on both sides (where baby is seated and ring side).

Coming to the Lisburn Slingmeet tomorrow, but aren’t sure where to start?
If you’re pregnant or have a newborn, a stretchy wrap is a wonderful place to start.
