Currently Northern Ireland’s largest livestock market with a throughput of approximately 57, 000 cattle and 140, 000 sheep attracting stock from all parts of NI.

Ballymena Livestock Market is owned and operated by JA McClelland & Sons (Auctioneers) Ltd.
The market operates five days a week with sales as follows-
Monday evenings (Ring 1, 2 and 3) –at 7pm during the months from August through to June sales of breeding sheep and store lambs.
Tuesday at 10. 30am (Ring 1) – sale of store cattle
Wednesday at 10. 30am (Ring 1)– sale of fat lambs and ewes
Thursday at 10. 30am (Ring 1)– sale of fat cows, feeding cows, fat bulls and prime beef cattle
Friday at 10. 30am (Ring 1, 2 and 3) – sale of weanlings, dropped calves, dairy cattle, suckler cows and breeding bulls
Saturday – during August and September – annual sales of breeding and pedigree sheep.
Also during October sales of suckled calves including our Show and Sale of calves attracting top quality show calves from throughout the province.
Machinery sale – Held 5 times throughout the year: February, April, June, September and November. There may also be additional sales throughout the Year. All types of Plant Machinery and Small Items are very welcome! !

Todays beef prices:- An entry of 270 beef cattle resulted in a steady trade. Cows sold to 168p for a Blue 670kg at £1125 and a Lim 680kg at £1142, Fr cows to 122p for 660kg at £805, beef heifers to 216p for 560kg at £1209. Beef bullocks to 208p for 530kg at £1102 and Fr bullocks to 161p for 520kg at £837.
