The 08 academy enjoyed mixed fortunes this weekend at the final round of tournaments in preparation for the Foyle cup. Yesterday we travelled to the very competitive Cookstown invitational where not much separated the team's we managed to get to the plate final by beating Hillsborough boys in the semi final and after a draw against Ballymena we won on penalties. Today we were at the antrim rovers 07 and in another tough group we came 2nd and after beating East Belfast in the quarter's up next was the hosts in the semi and unfortunately we couldn't reach the heights of y'day and got beat 3-1. A great learning experience for these young lads which hopefully will help them in the Foyle cup and I'd like to thank all the parents for there cooperation.

The 08 academy were in Omagh today at the Mountjoy Cup 2007 tournament. The boys battled hard to win a tough group which included the hosts Mountjoy and Enzo fc, next up was Glenavon in the semi final and came through 3-1 winners. Sion swifts were awaiting in a real ding duster of a final in which a last minute goal from the boys made it 1-1 and unbelievably we got the winner in extra time to make it 2-1,a fantastic days football and great effort from all the boys.

Well done to our 2009 Academy team who won the Portrush Cup today.
Best wishes go to Jack who picked up a nasty injury in the final. Hope to see you back on the pitch soon.

Our final presentation of the season was for the Small Sided Games teams. A big turn out at Ballymoney High School celebrated the end of a great season in style. Thanks to all who contributed in making tonight a success.
