Let’s give a round of ap-paws for the esteemed Mollie O’Neill who will be playing the role of Sandy in our upcoming production of Annie. We at Bardic are so excited to have Mollie as part of our cast, to share her wealth of knowledge from her extensive career. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Canine Arts (notable alumni of which includes Pippin from the much-loved children’s programme, “Come Outside”), Mollie was head-hunted to play ...“Bruiser Woods” in the Broadway production of Legally Blonde. She soon ditched the stage for screen as Mollie made her feature-film debut as the titular role in the smash-hit Marley and Me alongside Hollywood legend, Jennifer Aniston. Mollie’s career sky-rocketed from there, between making West End appearances in The Wizard of Oz to acting as executive producer on 101 Dalmatians, Mollie quickly became the most sought after dog in the industry. She had made plans to retire this year, but when she got the call from director, Declan McGrath, to be a part of Annie, Mollie couldn’t say no. Being the granddaughter of our very own “Bull’s Eye” from our 1986 production of “Oliver!”, Mollie was determined to keep her Bardic roots alive. She was warned about working with children, but Mollie has told us that our two Annies, Aoife and Eva, have been a dream to work with and she’s very excited to get stuck into the run!! “Annie” opens Friday 28th February and runs until Saturday 14th March. Tickets are already at a premium, SO DON’T MISS OUT!! bardictheatre.com
