The Council’s Sports Services Unit strive to encourage residents, both young and old, to 'get active' and 'stay active', as well as support individuals wishing to excel in their sport.
Sports Development
Our Sports Development Unit provides physical activity programmes and events across the Council area.
The Every Body Active 2020
Sport and physical activity programme, which are tailored to meet the needs of children & young people, adults, women & girls and people with disabilities.
Our Leisure & Community Centres listed below offer state of the art gym facilities as well as competitive birthday party packages and a range of coached activities.

SPORTS PERSONALITY OF THE MONTH WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Sports Lisburn & Castlereagh is celebrating local sporting talent following the announcement of Sports Personality of the Month for the summer sporting season.
Sponsored by Decathlon, the awards recognise the achievements and dedication of sporting stars in the Lisburn & Castlereagh area. The winners are selected each month by the Sport Lisburn & Castlereagh Committee and a £100 voucher is awarded to each successful winner.

This round of winners included Olivia Bell who secured the Under 11 Taekwondo Silver medal in the Junior Commonwealth Games, Ben Hayward who placed Gold in the Badminton event at the Special Olympics Ireland Games and finally Christine Duncan who has recently been crowned European Champion in Pickleball.
Chairman of Sport Lisburn & Castlereagh, Jimmy Walker said, “I appreciate that any sporting achievement is the result of hard work, training and dedication and I am delighted that we can acknowledge the achievements of local athletes through our Sports Personality Award. These young people are a true inspiration to others who are striving to progress in their chosen sport and I would like to extend my congratulations to them all.
“Finally I would like to thank Decathlon for their continuous support and for kindly sponsoring the initiative. I would warmly invite other clubs to make the time to nominate an individual who has excelled in their sport.”
Sport Lisburn & Castlereagh is a local sports committee comprised of representatives from local sports clubs within the council area and is financially assisted by Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council.
