Hello mum's and Dad's it's been a fun summer, I've missed getting to know the new additions in the co.Down area. So to kick start the new session of baby massage I am very excited to offer a 5 week Baby massage course completely free! Class starts on the 18th September in Jolly Jester Dromore. Get in touch to reserve your place. If your unsure about comiting to the 5 weeks that's not a problem as long as I know when your coming you are welcome to drop in and join the group at any stage.

We have read all the books and know that tummy time is really important. Some of our babies haven't read the same books as us and quite frankly don't fancy it!! So what can we do to get ourselves and our babies on the same page?? Here's 4 top tip's from beautiful babies ni.
1. Try popping your little one on their tummy for a short time, 2 to 3 times daily and build up the time spent on there tummy each day. 2. Hold a mirror in front of your baby as they lie on their tu...mmy, babies love to look at themselves as think they have made a new friend. 3. Attach a bath duck to a string to bob about in front of your baby, this is entertaining and will encourage your baby to lift their head up and strengthen their eyesight. 4. Support your baby on top of a beach ball or a fit ball, this is great for bigger babies as they love the feeling of elevation.

More exciting news for the babies in co. Down Beautiful Babies NI is heading to Bainbridge!! 5 week baby massage workshop staring on the 14th of March in Tesco Extra community room. After all that weekly shop can be stressful for all involved

If any mummys out there are struggling with a teething baby, I feel your pain! My top tip is a little toe massage. Believe it or not in eastern philosophy the toes hold reflex points for the teeth. Apply a little vegetable oil to the feet for slip and glide, use your index finger and thumb to do circles on each toe. For older babies that are on the move sit them up so they will enjoy watching what you're doing to their little feet! Keep it fun and include a song. Your little person will love listening to your singing!

Skin touching is a very powerful way to bond with your baby. The skin is the largest living organ and a new-born's skin is their most sensitive organ. Touch creates warmth and security for your baby, touching your baby releases the oxytocin hormone, this is the love hormone that has a very powerful effect necessary to help parents stay calm, relaxed and bonded to their baby.

Colic excessive prolonged periods of crying believed to be caused by the pain of trapped wind.One in five babies in the UK suffer from colic, with the symptoms continuing until the baby reaches between three and four months old in some cases even longer. It is as common in girls as it is boys and effects both bottle fed and breastfed babies. If a baby does experience colic they will most likely exhibit the symptoms of distress in the evening, for other’s who are effected more severely the crying can last all day and all night. This is extremely worrying and upsetting for parents. By using some simple massage movements in a routine designed for babies parents can help relieve the symptoms of colic and assist in healthy digestion.
