About Belfast Cathedral

The historic Cathedral Church of St Anne in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter holds daily and Sunday Services and welcomes visitors from all over the world

Belfast Cathedral Description

The Dean and the community of Belfast Cathedral invite you to visit this beautiful building which has stood for more than 100 years as a place of Christian worship in the heart of the city.

The Cathedral boasts many fine works of art, including mosaics by the Martin sisters, stonework by Rosamund Praeger and Morris Harding, stunning stained glass, marble tiling, carved woodwork and delicate needlework, including the handcrafted Titanic Pall.

Visitors are welcome from 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, and 1pm to 3pm on Sundays. A modest charge applies and this includes either a Visitors Guide or self-guided Audio Tour, both available in 8 languages.

Services take place four times daily. The Cathedral has a number of fine choirs including the recently formed Girls’ Choir and the new Boys’ Choir, and from March 3 2015 offers Evensong every weekday in term time except Saturday. St Anne’s is governed by the Church of Ireland’s Safeguarding Trust policy and its Safeguarding Trust Panel is made up of Dean John Mann, Danielle Barr and Roger Cromie.

St Anne’s is the Cathedral for the City of Belfast, and there is no entry charge for services or for private prayer.

More detailed information on all aspects of the Cathedral can be found on our website www. belfastcathedral.org.

Today we are raising money for the Samaritans #thebiglisten event! Please call in and make a donation, big or small. All money the Cathedral receives today through admission fee or donation will go directly to the samaritans #makeadifference #mentalhealthsupport

User

Mental Health support is something we are taking very seriously and the lack of funding available is having a catastrophic impact on our country. The Cathedral would like to step up and help in any way that we can. And so, next Tuesday 24th July, on the day of the Samaritans UK-wide Big Listen Event, any money the Cathedral receives on the day will be donated to the Samaritans. We want to get as many people involved as possible. Please call into the Cathedral next Tuesday,ma...ke a donation, bring some buns or eat some buns, help us raise money for a charity who can help vulnerable people. Our 'Messages of Hope' are now featured along the railings of the Cathedral. If you would like to add your message please leave it at our welcome desk and we will attach it for you. Take pics and share on social media. Spread the word and join us next Tuesday for a great cause. Thank you!
