About Best Buddies Ni

Best Buddies is dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with learning disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships.

Best Buddies Ni Description

The objective of the Best Buddies is to match people with learning disabilities with their non-disabled peers. We have both a youth (12-18) and adult (18 + ) program and they groups meet once per month for a fun activity as decided by Best Buddies members.

Once buddy 'Matches' have taken place, the pair undertake to make contact with each other once a week by phone, email, social media etc. They also meet up twice a month for an activity they both enjoy (one meet could be the group activity). This activity could be anything from the cinema, shopping, sports (playing or watching), community groups to coffee etc. It can be anything so long as it’s decided and agreed between both parties.

Best Buddies NI is operating in a number of schools and communities in the North Coast of Northern Ireland and welcome new members.

If you are 12 + years old you can potentially join one of our programs.

HOW TO JOIN…

We are always on the look out for new members to take part as both buddies (with a learning disability) and peer buddies (without a learning disability).

All we ask is that you’re willing to commit.

Look out for us within your local communities /schools or send us an email /pm us!
