Sea Pinks + Music City + Tbc
Friday 28th September. Doors 8pm. £7 (Black Box members £5.50)
... We are delighted to present Belfast’s finest purveyors of bittersweet guitar pop. Sea Pinks perform live at the Black Box to mark the release of their seventh album ‘Rockpool Blue’.
Rockpool Blue is the seventh album by Sea Pinks. At 28 minutes, it’s a short record about the pressure of taking on adult responsibilities when you still feel like a kid, and about the unexpected joy that can come from embracing that. Throughout, the band shrug off the ambivalence that has often characterised their best work for what turns out to be their most cohesive, outward looking and ultimately positive set of songs to date.

‘O’Neill held the audience in thrall throughout, a master storyteller’ New Yorker.

The Black Box -Home from Home, wonderful venue, seen so many brilliant bands and acts, meeting friends and lovers, cafe, jazz club, gallery where I've exhibited and seen others fab' work. A favourite place in Belfast always!

User

Such a great venue for all kinds of music and events. A bar in the black box and a bar in the Green Room. Regular art exhibitions in the Green Room. Very welcoming place. Staff are friendly and helpful.

User

Really nice venue, i have been here loads of times! It is one of the cultural hubs in belfast, from Music, to Laughter, Mini Markets & Interesting Lectures. Being able to grab a pint & a Pizza is simply a bonus. With events on at lunchtime and into the night how can you miss out?

User

One of my favourite venues for live bands / events in Belfast. Very friendly staff & atmosphere.

My husband & I visited The Black Box yesterday for The Robbie Burns celebration. This was our second time at the The Robbie Burns lunch. We had a wonderful day & l must compliment the staff, very friendly & helpful, the latte was delicious as was the haggis stew, really tasty on a cold day. The acts were fantastic, even better than last year, hope they are invited back in 2019 to do it all again.

User

My brother and I went to the Black Moon Grease event today for the first time. Was great fun!! My brother wants to know when the next one is in?!

Great spot!v interesting less formal stage yet far from casual performances in Epiphany. Was parched afterwards and had a rather nice guinness!(almost as good as a Malin Head pint!!;)

Friendly barstaff and the opportunity to do Q and A with the writer and main actress.Loved that!

Marvellous evening-couldn’t believe a Monday evening could be so exciting.xxoo

User

Fantastic venue, fantastic staff. Couldn't imagine Belfast without it.

User

Fantastic little venue, staff are down to earth, range of drinks is fantastic the atmosphere in the intimate setting of the Green Room is just bliss and the range of events they have on is nothing short of a credit to the staff who run them and the staff at BB to organise it! Shall definitely be back, and be back often :D

User

Fantastic group from Toronto - - Jerry Leger. They were really good & Green Room a lovely wee venue. Though if you ever get them back I’d get a bigger room & more promotion, we didn’t know what to expect as were just going on a friend’s recommendation but they were really great

User

Black Box hosted some awesome performers who clearly play for the love of it. This is what real music sounds like. Not manufactured but with pure energy, talent, heart and soul.

User

At Brian Nash 11th Nov been many times before, great venue and staff and Mr Nash was excellent. Only negative point was certain members in the crowd who seem to have went out to chat loudly with friends to the point of shouting over the music. Why?

User

I've been to this venue on a few occasions, and until last night my visits were all to private functions. Last night I went to Further Ted, expecting a sort of continuity of Father Ted, but was mildly disappointed. The F T connection was that all 3 actors had appeared in the series at one time or another, but on this occasion they were there as individual stand up comedians. There was a certain amount of humour from each one, and a fair bit of interaction with some members of the audience, but no real belly laughs. Maybe I just expected too much. The venue itself is great - intimate without overdoing it. Hopefully I'll return soon

User

The venue was great, drinks selection spot on, staff very friendly. The only issue I had was arriving early for Neil Delimere and get a table right at the front (great ) but then that was spoilt by the late arrival of a party of 7 who were seated at various tables, including ours, but they persisted to take over the whole front row and put their seats in a line blocking the view of the people who had the decency to arrive on time and get a good seat. Although this wasn't a fault with the staff, these people should have been seated elsewhere and not in front of others
