About Blackwater Integrated College
Our College philosophy provides a balanced environment so that children from all religious, cultural and social backgrounds can learn together.
Blackwater Integrated College Description
This social media site has been created to provide information for parents, students and other interested parties and to reflect on all aspects of College life.
Our College opened in September 2008. Blackwater Integrated College was formed from two existing schools, Down Academy Controlled Integrated High School and Rowallane Integrated College. The College has increased the number of available integrated places in the mid-Down area.
Our dedicated staff will continue to work in partnership with parents and Governors to ensure that the ethos and principles of Integrated Education characterise our classroom environments and college community.
Our college philosophy provides a balanced environment so that children from different religious, cultural and social backgrounds can learn together whilst valuing their own tradition and cultural beliefs. In this open community we aim toshare knowledge, respect difference and teach in a child-centred way that is structured to meet each childβs needs and aspirations.
Academic achievement is a principal target but it is also essential that each child can develop his or her self-esteem, self-respect and respect for others. The educational, emotional and social development of our children will be at the heart of the College.

For the next few weeks at least and possibly months things will be very different for our students, parents and staff.
Donβt forget that getting some school work completed each day is important but itβs not the most important thing. Look after yourself and each other and donβt forget to exercise and be creative with new tasks and share them with us.
There were some great pictures today on Mrs Wardβs activity task and itβs amazing to see students being independent and rising to the challenges set π

π Join the worldwide trend and post a drawing or painting of a rainbow in your window at home. This is a way to spread hope to your neighbours and feel connected with humanity as we fight the spread of Coronavirus together.
π Key Stage 3 students can take a picture of your window and upload it to the Art assignment in Google Classroom or send it to us via Facebook. Miss Jones will judge a winner on Friday.
