Bloomfield Auctions Description

For almost thirty years, Bloomfield Auctions here in East Belfast has been at the heart of the city’s antiques and collectables trade. Our celebrated weekly auctions are an eclectic mix, featuring everything from antiques and jewellery; from fine art to furniture (contemporary as well as vintage); jewellery to liquidation and surplus stocks, vehicles …. plus some astonishing and quirky special ‘finds’.

Behind-the scenes our specialist services include Probate and Insurance Valuations and House Clearances and we cater to the needs of individuals as well as businesses.

Whether you’re planning to sell, buy or browse, we’d be delighted to welcome you to Bloomfield Auctions. Auction fans will already know how things work but at Bloomfield our friendly staff are on hand to provide newcomers with a little good-humoured guidance to help them understand the process and get bidding.

Viewing days are on Monday from 10am-7pm and Tuesday from 10am-6pm with our main weekly auction starting at 6. 30pm each Tuesday. (If you can’t make it to the auction you’re welcome to leave your bid with us in person or by phone).

We are delighted to announce that over the course of the next few weeks, Bloomfield Auctions will be lauching its Land & Property Division. This will give our vendors the chance to keep everything under one roof and less hassle when it comes to dealing with the estate of a loved one. The Properties will not be auctioned but rather sold and handled by our online property portal. Karl Bennett, who is the Managing Director has over 15 years of Estate Agency experience in the Province and is keen to combine his knowledge once again for the benefit of his many clients. Further details will follow over the coming weeks.

Great night last night with the team from Antiques Road Trip

User

In light of the sensitivities around the Adolf Hitler items, we have taken the decision to withdraw them from sale for now.

This place is like a magnet once you have been you cannot drive past without being drawn in. The militaria sale was absolutely brilliant and the weekly sale has a great choice. I was delighted with it and the staff are excellent and very helpful

User

User

This is my 1st time venturing into the world of auctions and the staff have been second to none, very happy to help me with all my questions. Also a great selection of items for auction.

User

The customer service from the auction house is top rate. The staff are extremely helpful to both sellers and buyers and nothing is too much trouble when there is a query or a problem. They also offer expert advice.

User

Superb auction house, probably the best, going from strength to strength, incredable items some very rare even unique pieces that I certainly haven`t seen anywhere else, staff are all very pleasant, down to earth and extremely helpful. Fabulous vibrant atmosphere at auction night with plenty of excitement and surprises! Definately the best way to spend a Tuesday evening!

User

Sadly no longer can attend the sales night. Definitely one of the best for service, atmosphere and support. Hopefully in the future return if not for a buy, certainly for entertainment. Hats off

User

Karl, you and the staff make the auction experience, should you be selling, buying or just having a look well worth a visit.

Keep up the good work.

User

I used to be at the auction every week, one of the best in Ireland. A great atmosphere and a very varied selection of lots.

Lack of seats and a wrecked back meant I had to stop .

Back on the mend so ready for a return.

User

Had to try it out after watching so many auction programmes on TV. Superb experience, found it hard not to bid over and over. Will definitely be going again. The staff are excellent and extremely helpful.

User

Great auction would recommend a lot of great items for great prices. Staff good to work with too.

User

Great auction house, only complaint I have is they take holidays. What am meant to do at Easter, Julyand Christmas and new year when they are off enjoying themselves. I have to stay in with the family, do they not have feelings for their customers or care for their sanity.

User

Grate place good barges the staff are friendly and the people that go week after week are so much fun to be around. The atmosphere to the new place is much better and a lot more inviting not so closed in. If you won't barges fun and to make some friends definitely the place go.

User

Go take a look you will enjoy it there is a very good possibility you will get hurt and be there every Tuesday The auction is the place to be

User

Cracking wee auction, just need to be a wee bit stricter and clear the isle when the bidding starts, can't stand people people rummaging through boxes while the auction is on.

Please view this not as a criticism but as a service prompt so sellers and staff can both learn from it..having been disappointed that my Charles McAuley painting just made its amended reserve price of £300 we decided to bring some more items to auction. We brought assorted items on 11 May and I was informed that a valuation would follow. I noticed ONE of the items on Facebook last week having been informed that they would all be in the sale on Tuesday. When I asked I was told not all the items were photographed. I duly phoned on Thursday and the lady on the phone told me that none of my items were in the sale. So my wife and I called on Friday and was told "all your items went through but I can't give you any money today" and "give me your account details and there will be a money transfer over the weekend". And guess what? No money transfer has been made, and we weren't told as to what to expect as"the office is closed". Despite the staff being clearly visible. I would be concerned that an original "Manson Blair" oil painting of Slieve Donard, a brass and marble cherub table lamp, a Brass monkey lamp base, and a Queen Elizabeth 2 Coronation plate have been undersold, If I had had the luxury of the promised valuation I cd have fixed a reserve for these items...for which I had an independent valuation. Lesson to learn...insist on valuation. However still disappointed that the promise of money transfer wasn't kept....someone isn't telling the truth methinks....but we'll see....I have loads more antiques and miscellaneous items as I'll be moving house shortly...but I need to ask myself......

User

Worst auction house I have ever been to. Having waited for over an hour to bid on an item which I won, went to pay & was then told it had been withdrawn earlier this afternoon, this was at 8..30 this evening, I do not have a problem with the owner doing this but with the auction house who told me they didn't get round to taking it off ! How long would it have taken to have put a withdrawn sticker on the item or crossed it off the list or an announcement made . Very unprofessional !!!!!

User

Phoned up the day before the auction and was promised 'in-house' shipping by this company. Having spent a significant sum with them, I was extremely unhappy to find that the Lot purchased was still awaiting collection when I phoned over a week after the auction. I have have now had to arrange shipping myself. I won't mention the mix-up with which lot had been won by whom. Very disappointed. Will NOT be doing business with these people again
