Bodior Farm: Holiday Lets Description

Bodior Farm is a 700 acre mixed suckler beef and sheep farm located on the south coast of Ynys Cybi (Holy Island). It is owned by the Bulmer family and managed by Farm and Shop Manager Frank Roberts. It’s a diverse farm of pasture land, woodlands, heather, gorse, marsh lands, sand dunes and rough grazing.

The farm established a pedigree Beef Shorthorn herd in 2003 whose numbers have increased over the years and continuing to do so. Frank Roberts was drawn to this native UK breed due to their good temperament, easy management without the requirement of high input of feed and their reputation of producing good quality beef renowned for its marbling and providing excellent tasting meat. The farm also keeps a flock of Welsh Mule sheep running with Suffolk and Texel rams. Native pigs, bred from local pig breeders, have been sourced and are being finished at Bodior.

Conservation plays a big part on how Bodior is managed and farmed due to its huge diversity of wildlife, which makes it unique. Frank Roberts is committed to farm with sympathetic stocking rates, using fertilizers based on sustainable sea weed production, restoring traditional field boundaries and managing /planting hedgerows.

The aim of selling our own produce is to provide a product that is locally produced thereby ensuring full traceability and providing good quality meat.
