The Happy Ending for Charlie Straw and Bonnie VelvetBONNIE VELVET & CHARLIE STRAW·FRIDAY, 7 DECEMBER 2018Charlie Straw found himself in the Dog Pound in April 2011. He came in with another dog who everyone thought was his mum. He was very thin and was going to be put down, but they decided to feed him, and see if he could be saved. His mum was rehired and Charlie broke his heart. I went into the pound and saw him and that was it! He is such a calm and chilled Lurcher Cross! Bonnie Velvet was owned and microchipped but was put out on the streets at 6 months old. She was lifted by the dog warden. It was Christmas, and like Charlie she was nearly put down! The dog warden contacted Benvardin Animal rescue, who took Bonnie in on Christmas Eve 2014. The rest is history, they are a very much loved part of the family and this is not one, but two stories, with a very happy ending! !
