Open TODAY Sunday 12-4, just in case any of you are at a loose end waiting for 2019 to arrive.....

User

We are open every day, including this Sunday 12 - 4, until Christmas Eve, when hopefully we will be at home with everyone else enjoying the Icelandic tradition of 'Jolabokaflod', reading books and eating chocolate! (Or maybe I'll just be peeling brussels sprouts). We will then remain closed until Saturday 29th December, when it's business as usual 10-5pm. Wishing you all a peaceful and happy Christmas, with a huge thanks for all your support and goodwill this year. Paul, Linda, Corrie and Amy x

Ok it’s official Christmas is just around the corner when I’ve started making mulled wine. Come in and test it today 🍷🍷🍷

It’s out this week. It’s the final novel in the bestselling Dark Artifices trilogy from Cassandra Clare. And it will keep you, your teenager or your young adult entertained all Christmas, at 875 pages.....

User

The almost perfect gift book for those of you with a love hate relationship with Christmas ( and maybe even your relations )

Downside of a rainy day ? Quiet lunchtime. Upside of a rainy day? Sneaky cup of tea and a few short stories in peace and quiet. Perfect 5 minutes of escapism. I’ve been to a farm in Mayo with #eddiecunningham, Paris with #sophiahillan and burned some Christmas letters with #iansansom. Brilliant!

We have just got these delightful children’s titles in from the hugely talented Clive McFarland ( and he’s from NI). And we are OPEN THIS SUNDAY 12 -4 so you can come and see them for yourselves 😀

User

If you can’t beat them join them ... Happy Thanksgiving and welcome to our Black Friday sale table. All sorts of offers over the next 3 days only.#blackfridaysale #blackfriday2018 #bookspaperscissors #booksforchristmas

And they are our neighbours .... best chips too !

User

Official invite to the launch of Anna's book tomorrow night, good luck with it Anna! Books in stock with us too.

User

We don’t have the best windows for display but Mr M has excelled himself this week

User

Ok I’ll admit it. I’m an unashamed fan of this lady. But when I pick up the book, read the first 5 pages and decide that my daughters just absolutely have to read it - she’s just achieved legend status ❤️

User

It’s AQE week one on Saturday for all those hardworking and stressed out kids doing transfer tests. Don’t forget your freshly sharpened pencils ... is your kid a zany zebra pencil or a serious pencil type?

User

Due to Halloween commitments ( aka children) Paul & I are no longer able to go to this poetry reading tonight. It’s Michael Longley and Paul Muldoon too!!! So the first person into the shop to mention this post will be offered these tickets FREE ... too good to go to waste.

Hear hear !

I’m sad that I see so many enthusiastic and avid readers in primary school, but when they move up to Yr8 suddenly the downtime for reading seems to disappear year on year. I’m attempting to make our Teenage/ YA more appealing.Or at the very least easier to ‘grab and go’ in a kind of lucky dip lotto....

It's Book Club week ... discussing Sally Rooney and her first novel Conversations with Friends. Tuesday at 10.30 am or Thursday at 7pm.

User

It’s official. Northern Ireland has its own Booker prize winner. Well done Anna Burns and for all of you who thought ‘ I suppose I really should read that ‘ ( I include myself here) .... well lots of copies due in tomorrow 😉

What a little gem!! Love this bookshop :)

User

We were just outside the Ulster museum and saw a bow window showing not a common bookstore but something inspiring and then we jumped in. Found really good people and really good books.

User

Staff are friendly and very knowledgable about the books on sale. I explained what I'd been reading and enjoying recently and got a few good recommendations to suit me. Thank you.

User

My go to for books. It's super cute they are super friendly and can order whatever you want. This includes, but is not limited to, old soviet novels that are only barely in print. It's great to visit the Ulster Museum and have a little browse in here. There will always be something I, or my 3 year old, will love in there. They carry lots of local authors as well and stuff for kids of every age. Linda, besides being friendly and knowledgeable, is a great book club leader and I've really enjoyed attending the book club. I wish them every success!

User

Lovely new independent bookshop opposite Ulster Museum in Belfast. Had great browse and chat to staff yesterday.

User

In the busy metropolis of Belfast lies Books Paper Scissors. It's a warm friendly place to source your latest read, catch up on what's happening locally or just to order a book. If you're on holiday or visiting for the day, I would highly recommend this family run bookshop.

I've just discovered this little gem of a shop this afternoon. I'd been looking at it whilst being a Poppy Ambassador outside the Ulster Museum... wonderful haven from the outside world! I know the last thing I 'need' to buy is a book but really, impossible not to, so well done Brilliant!

User

I love this shop it’s such a calming atmosphere. I shop for kids books for Kids Yoga and I find they always have a lovely selection! Support the independent shops! You won’t be disappointed staff are really friendly, I could spend hours in this little shop

User

I dream about bookshops like this and so rarely do you find them now. Beautifully done, seems like a well thought out selection of books and a comfy sofa for reading on (I presume) what more could you want on a grey autumn Saturday afternoon. Next time I will come without the children and you might have to kick me out!

User

Great little indie bookshop. Well stocked and v friendly.
