We love Browns in Windsor. Having dinned here many times, we always know that we will be treated with great service, fantastic drink choices, and beautiful food in the most perfect of settings.
Up there in our top ten of places to enjoy.
Me and my other half visited yesterday (29/03/18) we both had the traditional breakfast and it was bloody lovely, the staff were very nice and friendly Highly recommend this place we will be back x
Lovely restaurant and food. Sit on the upstairs balcony and look at the river Thames and the castle all in one go. Absolutely fantastic view
Great time, we were a large group and waitress was fab. Everyone enjoyed the food they selected ÔøΩ
Great service, booked a table for 5 and we had a great time . Good food and excellent service , staff very helpful.
Delicious food, amazing service, beautiful view! Sat on the terrace and had a memorable experience ÔøΩÔøΩ
A nice menu and can recommend the baked camembert with rhubarb starter, very nice. A lively bar and restaurant and very nice bottle of pinot
Great food, brilliant service and fantastic range of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. Best of all was the company ÔøΩ
Great night with good service, food was nice.
Best porn star martini’s. Good value for money
Booked a table for 3pm today, arrived at 1:30 So we could have some drinks and decided to order a few bat nibbles, to be told they was far to busy to accommodate any bar food, but the girl greeting guests and showing people to their tables was advising people that bar food could be ordered?! However no more than 20 minutes later the table next to us in the bar had bar food brought to their table?!?! At 3pm we was showing to our table but everything on the menu that we wanted to order was no longer available. Due to the hot weather we was aiming for something light and refreshing, however had to order heavy foods. If it hadn't of been a bank holiday and so busy in Windsor we would have probably gone somewhere else. Really disappointing to be honest, considering the times I have been before had been great all round.
What's happened to Browns? Food was overcooked, the lighting was so dire, the people at the next table had their flashlight apps on their phone out, just to read the menu! I had Toad in the Hole, with sausages that were really salty and tough, and Yorkshire Pudding that was tough as old boots.
Went here this evening for a friends birthday. First time I've been. Doubt I'll be going back again sadly. Ordered the prawn and lobster linguine with another two girls...it was incredibly bland so we sent it back. Then ordered the chicken schnitzel which took forever to arrive. This wasn't all that either unfortunately. Had a huge wait for someone to take our order initially. Such a shame as a beautiful location.
Their chef, Sebastian contacted me unprovoked with a rude and inappropriate message. When I contacted Browns to make them aware of how their employee was behaving they did not care at all. I travel the world, but there is no way I would ever step foot in this establishment if they allow perverts to continue to work there and harass women. I would be worried of him doing something worse if I were a woman going here.
Tables uncleared and filthy full of foul languages youngsters, staff very polite toilets filthy usually like Browns but would avoid this one like the plague
Service was terrible. I ordered scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on toast and had to send it back twice as wrong order. My daughter-in-law ordered a tea which came just as we were about to leave and having had to ask for it again. The food was pretty tasteless and I had a dirty fork. The bill was wrong and I had to go in to pay as no one came back. Wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t go back.
Service very slow! Asked for side order of bread and butter got toast? Not sure I would rush back!!
Service slow, unorganised and downright poor. Drinks poor quality. Food average at best, and seriously over-priced. Only went as it was a relative’s birthday.
Really. Don’t bother.
Service is awful. Booked afternoon tea for 3pm. It’s now 4pm and we still haven’t been served. Everyone around us is waiting for meals as well and generally getting pretty annoyed. Definitely would not recommend and we will not be coming back.
Have to say how bad Browns has become. My wife and I lived in Windsor for many years and it was always one of our favourite go to places. So not having been there for 9 months I thought we would go for my Birthday lunch yesterday. The service was terrible, we saw 3 sets of couples walk out as they had either been left waiting for almost an hour for starters or had the wrong starters/mains presented to them more than once. It appeared that the staff were making mistakes with orders or couldn’t remember the table numbers so were mixing it all up. Our own experience was that it took over 40 minutes for our starters and another 50 minutes for our mains with drinks orders. The food was average at best but the experience has really put us off going again. The Boat House and Côte Eton are both much better bets than Browns right now.
