Statement of Response to ACNI Funding Decision #SaveBruiser
Bruiser Theatre Company is very surprised and deeply disappointed to learn that we will not be included in the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s 2018/19 Annual Funding Programme. Without this crucial funding, it will be impossible for us to deliver the innovative and meaningful work that, over the past 20 years, has allowed Bruiser to develop a diverse audience and terrific reputation across the island of Ireland. Wow - 39 steps A-maz- ing !!!!!
Best show I have seen in years !
Was at The Colleen Bawn tonight with 40 of my students (all studying A Level Theatre Studies). What a fabulous production! So full of energy, imagination, fun and talent!!! Bravo Bruiser!!! You never disappoint
Totally amazing production of Cabaret. Wild, funny, moving. Brilliant
Saw The 39 Steps at the Lyric last night. Was designed, organised and acted with such skill and creativity that I found myself totally sucked into everything that was happening, despite the minimal props and settings. Was laughing from start to finish. The train scene was a highlight. Recommended!
Saw Caberet tonight at the Mac and absolutely loved it. The performers, the staging, the music, the lighting - everything was amazing!
My son attended the start academy last week,he has aspergers but absolutely loves performing. He had a fantastic time and i was amazed on sunday evening when i went to watch the showcase. The kids literally blew me away with what they achieved in a week and the guys running it were fantastic with the kids!!!!
Lisa May and team have once again produced an amazing production. Congratulations to all the cast for a stimulating performance. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Last night I had the gift of seeing the energetic The 39 Steps at The Lyric Theatre. From the start it took you on a fast pace journey of clever staging ,to acrobatic moves and thrilling choreography that are so indicative of Lisa Mays brilliant direction. The range of characters played to such perfection was superb. I found I was holding my breath as not to miss a second. The staging was bigger than previous Bruiser shows I've seen and this added to its magnificence . The exact timing of tech was remarkable. Well done Bruiser !! once again theatre making at its best.
Just brilliant. Laughed so much! Amazing cast and production. Highly recommend.
Innovative forward moving theatre at its best
I have just been to see The Colleen Bawn which I have to say was the funniest, most riotous play I’ve ever been to. The physicality, the singing and the comic timing was absolutely spot on. If you haven’t booked your ticket, do so immediately! Well done Bruiser Theatre Company!
Fantastic show tonight at The Lyric. A terrific cast, brilliantly directed and beautifully designed. Well done to all concerned. xx
Congratulations to all involved with the Bruiser/Lyric production of "The 39 Steps". A rigorously drilled, giddily thrilling show. Archly crafted, irreverent and at times poignantly relevant romp of spies, authority, gun shots and camp props. A few stray stockings to boot. Immaculately directed and maniacally acted. Funny, frivolous and fantastic. Golly!
Bruiser's Summer Schools and Graduate Academy are magnificent opportunities for aspiring actors. I strongly recommend any young NI actors attend. Lisa and her team are wonderful to work with!
Absolutely blown away by tonight's performance of Cabaret. An incredibly talented cast, superb direction, wonderful music, fab setting. A production worthy of any stage in the West End or on Broadway and its right here in little ole NI! If you've never seen a Bruiser show what are you waiting for?!! Congratulations to everyone involved. Can't wait to see the next production....
Absolutely adored The Importance of being Earnest tonight :) Thoroughly entertained.
A brilliantly acted and directed production, performed with the energy and fun I now expect from the excellent bruiser company!
'The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)' was a hoot from start to finish! Loved it!
