Coffee and deserts with friends all disappointing. Nothing done well. Why have table menus but no table service. I won't return
Although food was tasty portions were a bit small. Whats with the giant fridge in the toilet foyer?
In the absence of AA Gill it befalls me to write a review of Café Renoir.
Warm inviting frontage beckoned me in, only to be informed by the waitress that for some indecipherable reason only pizza was available tonight, and their card machine was down, so cash only.
After a quick foray to a cash machine I was back and seated on a reclaimed pew, sipping a sparkling water browsing the dog-eared A3 menu. You are greeted by a bewildering array of New-World themed pizzas with strange topping combinations. I took a gamble and settled on a Sierra 12" pizza (crispy bacon, potato, jam, paprika), followed by Italian cheesecake topped with a profiterole and whipped cream.
Despite the naming conventions being totally misleading, the food was good: hot things arrived hot, cool things served cold. Sadly the toilets are abysmal: I've visited better bogs high in the Himalayas.
Overall, I'd give this place 4/5.
Love the food in this place. Great desserts and tray bakes and does a fantastic fry. Meals are delicious too
Pizza great .... But as said before the service a bit lacking in polished performance to make this a great eatery
But what a difference a day makes. Came back a day later. Had the Seafood Risotto. Delicious. And the service was prompt and friendly. So I increased it to 4 stars
