Inspired by Nationa Friendship Day our Teenage and Young Adult Ward Support Specialist Helen and her CLIC Sargent and Teenage Cancer Trust colleagues brought this brilliant group of young adults together.
Peer support can play a vital role for young people impacted by cancer, helping young adults feel less isolated and more supported, and confident in facing some of the challenges associated with their diagnosis.
On Tuesday evening the group invaded our Cottages for a game...s and pizza night, where there was some silverware up for grabs in the Spoons and Dobble Championship! It was great to see everyone’s competitive spirit in full swing, and lots of chat and laughter amongst the group.
We want to say a big thank for you support so we can continue to provide events like.

I think Cancer Fund For Children is an amazing charity!!! In August 2010 I took part in a mountain climb which was up Slieve Donard in Newcastle in Northern Ireland and it was the most unbelievable experience I've ever had I raised money with my brother and then completed this climb with people I didn't even know. The climb itself was tough going and seemed to go on forever but it was for a good cause

Home after a fantastic family break in daisy lodge...I could not rate this place or their staff high enough. The way that we were looked after and catered for was exceptional. Thank you all so much.

Hear so many good reports! Daughters raised money for daisy lodge a few years ago. Fab charity!!

Got home yesterday evening after spending the weekend at daisy lodge. This was our second time here and again it was out of this world. The surroundings are just exceptional so relaxing. My 3 boys had a fantastic time. They never stopped from the moment they went through the front door on Fri evening. They met some great friends over the weekend.

Also a big thank you to Maggie and Caroline for my lovely facial, massage and nails. Hopefully will see you all again soon xxx

Can't thank Cancer Fund for Children enough! We are home after a few days break at Daisy Lodge and our (rather large) family had a fantastic time! It's the first family break we have had in years and was well needed. The staff, well I couldn't praise them enough. The food was excellent, the whole atmosphere so relaxing and lovely.

Special thanks to our complementary therapist, Claire who made my 21 year old feel so much better. He's been having a tough time dealing with his brother's diagnosis and his own cardiac disease. She is such a lovely soul. Hope to visit you all again soon x

An amazing place, a wee bit magical even. All the staff go out of their way to ensure you and your family are enjoying themselves, they are all so lovely. Daisy Lodge is 'paradise' according to Toby (11) and he thinks Gareth is the coolest person ever! A place to meet other people in the same boat, who understand. x

A wonderful break at Daisy Lodge as part of the Young Shoulders programme. It was the great fun that you would have on a school residential only with 5 star accommodation and service. Quality time as a family and also the opportunity to meet new friends and their families who can all empathise with each other. Amazing staff and volunteers that make it all so special. A very special thank you to Laura, Joe and Marty for their support throughout the programme.

User

A very large family to call your own that understand what you are going through and what you need to help you through it all without trying because they know and I mean they know blessed to have this place to escape to
