Carla Stronge Casting Description
Carla is a born and bred Northern Irish Casting Director based in Belfast.
Her first casting director credit was BBC 2’s THE FALL - the critically acclaimed drama series that first aired in May 2013 to record audiences.
Carla’s first official casting credit was HBO’s GAME OF THRONES in 2010. But truth be told she has been casting for a lot longer than that.
Carla really has learnt from the ground up. Having started in background casting, she began street casting in 2005 and then went on to set up Northern Ireland’s first background casting company, Extras NI, in 2007. She quickly became the first port of call to assist and inform casting directors coming to Northern Ireland as she was often working on the same productions. She regularly cast small parts and child roles on feature films such as CITY OF EMBER (2007 Gil Kenan / Walden Media / Playtone) and YOUR HIGHNESS (2009 David Gordon Greene / Universal), to name but a few.
It was through this work that Carla had the opportunity to assist Nina Gold and Robert Sterne in their epic countrywide search (throughout both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland) for local talent to cast in HBO’s Game of Thrones. From there on in, she undertook all local casting for all five seasons to date. This was the perfect launchpad that led to Carla’s casting of THE FALL, both series 1 and 2.
Since 2011 Carla has focused entirely on honing her skills as a casting director. She continues to build on her experience and loves to collaborate. If you need to source local talent and /or explore off the beaten track to discover something new and emerging, please get in touch.

We are looking for a girl aged 14-16 for a leading role in an exciting new CBBC Sci Fi Mystery/Adventure Drama, to be filmed in Northern Ireland May - Sept 2020. All suggestions should be based in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.
... The girl we are looking for is the athletic, outdoorsy type, a real life Katniss from The Hunger Games! Her parents run a local summer camp and she is dutiful and maintains her camp responsibilities, teaching archery and other classes. She doesn’t bother with make-up and isn’t fazed by dirt under her fingernails. She’s not afraid of hard work.
NO prior filming experience is necessary and we are open to any Northern Irish or Southern Iriah accent.
