Carrick Cottage Cafe will be operating its usual opening hours of Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the month of December. We will also be open Thursday 20th and Thursday 27th December as additional days. Why now come and visit our beautifully decorated cafe and see all the gorgeous lights we have surrounding the cafe for Santa’s visit this year.

It was an absolute pleasure to have Mr Ian Harvey, Feature Writer for Farm Week visit Carrick Cottage today. We were lucky to have Ian select Carrick Cottage as a success story diversifying from a rural Irish home to a commercial business. He also visited our newly opened Carrick Lodge Self Catering Accommation and Carrick Lodge Glamping Pods aswell as the family farm all run by the Harrison Family. It was great to have some locals visit the cafe and share stories with Mr Harvey. Such a true gentleman with soo many interesting and heartwarming experiences to share. Thank you soo much for choosing Carrick Cottage for your feature and we look forward to seeing the piece in Farm Week, Thursday week. Rachael

User

Just to clarify Carrick Cottage Cafe and Carrick Lodge Glamping Pods are one business and are entirely separate from Carrick Little Glamping. Just to sort out any confusion. Cheers Rachael

User

We have been staying close by for the last week & have visited the cafe 4 times. It's a delight, great coffee & cheesecake/ lemon meringue & soups. We brought friends on two occasions & they loved it! Rachel & crew are great hosts

User

We had planned to climb Binion but stopped off at Carrick Cottage first which was packed so we retreated to the shed at the side which had a lovely cosy fire going and very nicely decked out w the best views! We were invited inside when table became available but we were happy to stay in shed.we had a light lunch which was perfect..hit the spot. The owner came by and had a lovely informative chat w us while she checked on everything. They were set up for a child party and were awaiting the group's return...what a novel idea!! By time we dragged ourselves away the rain was on so we abandoned Binion ...but will dev be back to complete unfinished business!

User

Twice in one weekend what more can I say. From the great chat and history lesson washed down with great Americanos and Poached Eggs On wheaten on Friday. Then more breakfast for a great start to the hills followed by amazing homemade Sweet Potato and Carrot soup steaming hot with fab Wheaten just the thing after 16km in the rain. Everyone will have their own wee experience here but if you’d like to step back in time and warm your hands and heart by the fire then you simply need to call in.

See you next weekend when Johnny’s Walkers return.

This is the most charming place in Ireland. When I opened the door, it felt like I was stepping into a fairy world, magical charming little Irish fairy cottage.

The staff made me feel so comfortable despite my 5 hours stay (waiting for my daughter to come back from hiking), most visitors must have felt as comfortable because everyone was chatting to everyone, it is not only a cafe, it is a place where people come together and enjoy the best views and hospitality that Ireland has to offer.

Did I mention the lovely home made food and coffee?! Worth every penny and more

Love love love this place! The staff and owner are such lovely people . I landed in on them a few weeks ago and it was on a Monday . I hadn't realised it was one of the days they were closed and they were decorating. They invited us to stay as I had brought my Canadian family and told them so much about this cafe. They set us up a beautiful lunch and after a few more people arrived how could they say no to them ūüėÜ. I felt guilty and they just took it all in their stride and it was service with a smile (and a joke or two). It really was the highlight of the week for my visitors. The views, quality of food and friendly service all make for a perfect experience. Will be back again very soon!
