Carrickfergus Crossroads

Carrickfergus Crossroads is a youth club for young adults aged 15-29 with learning disabilities.

Carrickfergus Crossroads endeavour to promote the independence and boost the confidence of our members through various projects aimed at teaching valuable life skills that will help them to get the best out of life.
This includes activities such as
Cooking
Shopping
Planning events
Money management
Health awareness

We operate on Thursday evenings throughout the year between
7-10pm at Sunnylands Youth centre

We cater for young adults aged between 15 and 25. While we are a relatively small club with around twenty five members at any time we believe that this means that we can focus on our member’s Individuality, catering the club activities to suit their needs.
There are many learning disabilities reflected in our membership. Some examples would be ADHD, Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and Down’s Syndrome. Regardless of the condition however we see the person not just the disability. This has lead to our motto
“See my ability, not my disability”.
