Cats Protection Belfast Adoption Centre Description

An adoption fee of £60 per cat is charged. This fee goes towards the care the cat has already received while at the adoption centre. On average the Belfast Adoption Centre spends approximately £150 - £200 on each cat in its care. Cats Protection does not receive funding from any government or lottery bodies and therefore relies on donations from the kind public and adopters to allow us to continue the vital work that we do.

All adopted cats will have received the following treatments:

- A thorough veterinary examination
- Have received at least their 1st vaccination
- Treated for worms and fleas
- Neutered (if old enough)
- Microchipped

Adopters will also receive 4 weeks free insurance from Petplan upon adoption.

Meet the brilliant Boris! Unfortunately, this lovely boy is back in our care for the second time now after his owner sadly passed away. Boris is looking for a home that can show him as much love as his previous did. #AdoptMe #ShareToHome
Boris is a 7r old smashing big cat with a personality to match! Although he is not a Manx cat, Boris doesn’t have any tail – a result of a previous close call where one of his nine lives was lost we think! He's looking forward to being part of a family again and getting back to the comforts of home life. Please give this fantastic lad the break in life that he deserves; we can’t think of a more deserving cat than Boris to find him his forever home.

Marcia is looking for a new home after she was relinquished into Cats Protection care from her previous home where she was living in a quite stressful environment. This sweet girl developed Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD) as a result of her stress. She is now on a special diet to help with this. You can find out more about FLUTD here: https://bit.ly/2FNk2rg Marcia can't wait to be in a quiet, mature household where she can fully immerse herself in relaxation. She is now much happier and has let her personality shine a little more. She'd prefer to be the only pet in the household so she can be content in her own company. Marcia is just looking for the last piece of her puzzle- a happy family. Could that be you? #AdoptMe #ShareToHome

Beautiful Bella is more than ready for her new family to come and sweep her off her paws. Sadly, Bella was found in a collapsed state on the side of the road, unable to put any weight on her legs. She was clipped by a passing car and received a fractured pelvis. It's been a long road to recovery but thanks to the vets and Cats Protection, she's now fighting fit again! Bella is a shy character who needs a little reassurance to show her that everything will be okay. Once Bella's trust is gained, she'll give you lots of head bumps and demonstrate how good she is a purring! If you're looking for a sweet girl to welcome in your life, come to see all that Bella has to offer. #AdoptMe #ShareToHome

Meet Poppy and her son Rio! This close pair is looking for a new family after they were brought into our care after their owner sadly couldn't care for them any longer. As you can see by their photo, they have such a tight bond and Poppy is very protective over her little one as any mum would be! They are looking for a nice quiet home to settle into and come out of their shell a bit more. Once they feel comfortable, their personalities will really win you over! If you ready to bring in a loving duo, please don't hesitate to meet Poppy and Rio. #AdoptUs #ShareToHome #AdoptMe

It was fantastic to be able to say 'goodbye and good luck' to two of the Belfast Adoption Centre's long stay residents - brother and sister duo - Molly and Mackenzie.
The siblings were relinquished into the Belfast Adoption Centre's care when their previous owner sadly became too ill to care for them. Fast forward to just over 6 months later when Teri came walking through the cattery and fell head over heels in love with the pair.
Molly and Mackenzie left the centre with Teri... this afternoon, headed for their new abode in East Belfast.
We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Teri for giving Molly and Mackenzie the second chance in life that they truely deserved and wish them all many years of health and happiness in their new life together.
We love a happy ending! 😊

Meet the lovely Jacqui. This stunning moggy is 7yrs old and has the most beautiful long fur. She's on the lookout for a new family that's willing to give her love and a good pamper sesh! #AdoptMe #ShareToHome
Jacqui is more than ready to find a comfortable home to settle down into. She was sadly abandoned by her previous family when they up and moved house. She has gained lots of independence and likes to do her own thing but on the other hand- she does enjoy some human affection when it's on her own terms. Jacqui would feel most comfortable in a mature household who will let her come and go as she pleases, and obviously be ready to give her all the snuggles and strokes she desires! If you think you're the right fit for Jacqui, then please come to meet her!

Meet Ally! This beautiful girl is unfortunately back at our centre for the second time. Her most previous owner sadly became too ill to look after her. We've got our fingers crossed for it to be the third time lucky for Ally! This lovely girl is only 2yrs old and has already experienced being uprooted and moved around too many times. She is ready for some stability in her life. She is so laid back and friendly, she would make a perfect companion to any family on the lookout for a feline friend. Ally is ready for her new family, could it be you? #AdoptMe #ShareToHome

We all know that moggies have a tendency to have selective hearing...there are those times when they flat out ignore us!
According to a vet in the US, cats are more likely to pay attention to you if their name includes an ‘ee’ sound - like Ruby or Robbie! It’s based on cats responding better to higher pitch sounds.
Have any of you had experiences with this and does your cat respond to a favoured name? 😸
