Change of Art is at Upstart's DARE Festival this weekend with our new installation 'Hear Here.' Come and listen to the voices of the neighbourhood, gathered through interviews around the performance venue Shoreditch Town Hall. The installation will run Thursday through Saturday.
On Saturday at 12:30PM, we're running an interactive workshop on Difficult Conversations, supported by HOPE not hate. Learn useful techniques for having better conversations on the issues you care ab...out, and creating change one-on-one.
A £12 ticket gets you access to the workshop and the whole afternoon and evening programme of performances.
'Hear Here' is supported using public funding from Arts Council England.

"In the world of culture – away from politics and the media – we encourage calm reflection, and the empathy that naturally springs from sharing stories and seeing the world through each other’s eyes."
Sophie Henderson writes eloquently about the need for a national migration museum, in light of the mistreatment of the Windrush generation.

The first annual Change of Art Festival was held on Saturday, 17th June 2017 at the Human Rights Action Centre performance space in Shoreditch, as part of Hope Not Hate’s Weekend of Action marking the anniversary of the murder of Jo Cox, MP.
The aim of the festival was to celebrate Jo Cox’s life through the performing arts and to bring people together from different communities who might not otherwise connect.
Jo Cox’s legacy transcends politics and reaches into the heart of ...our communities; our aim for the festival was to bring people together from all over London, in a shared event, to honour Jo and to share our love for this multicultural city.

Last June, Sarah Sigal, Mayou Trikerioti, Amy Clare Tasker, Hannah Eugénie Tookey, Susanna Fiore, Tom Mansfield and Maria Shury-Smith launched the Change of Art Festival, an evening of performance to celebrate diversity and community. This was part of the Great Get Together and supported by HOPE not hate and Amnesty UK. And we had help from lovely people like Sarah Beck Tiney, Elliott Tiney, Will Jennings, Becca Dunn, Carla Marina Almeida, Rebecca Peyton & Daniel Batkin-Smith. It was a big success and we're raising money to do it again next year. Could you please take a couple of minutes to vote for us to receive funding from the Aviva Community Fund for the 2018 festival? (This is not a donations plea! It's free, quick, and easy to register and vote online.) Thanks! http://ow.ly/BYgg30gz2Ip
