The price of 900 litres has dropped more than £14 in a week. There has been a recent strengthening of the £ against the US $ and as oil is priced in dollars, this has helped bring down the price of heating oil.
After the US Presidential Election results, the US $ weakened further against the pound. The price of oil also dropped. “Trump’s victory is seen as a ‘shock,’ prompting (investors) to seek safe-haven assets and this has pushed oil prices down,” said one analyst.
