Claire creates thrown and coiled large scale moon jar vessels from a variety of clays and decorates the surface simply to allow the piece to have a presence of its own. Alongside this she creates a functional tableware range intended for everyday use from a porcelain clay body. It illustrates an elegant tranquil design which is complimented by her application of a refined selection of celadon glazes. Inspiration comes mainly from the Middle East and ancient Minoan ceramics (Crete) all dating back to the 17th Century. She then fires her work in a gas reduction kiln to cone 8 /9 to suit her blue chun, tenmoku and celadon glazes.
