Slieve Doan is situated in the heart of The Mourne Mountains overlooking Silent Valley reservoir. At a height of 592 metres you have spectacular views of the peaks in The Mournes and down into the Irish Sea. A decent walk of approx 1hr from OTT car park.

It is not very often you get a chance to be inside the Lighthouse in the middle of Carlingford Lough, but when you do you grab the oppurtunity with both hands. Thanks to James McArevey for making this possible and thanks to Captain Sean Cunningham for the use of his boat for the trip from Greencastle out to Haulbowline Lighthouse.

For the week that's in it, have a wee look at this video of St Patrick's first Church in Ireland. Saul Church, also known as St. Patrick's Memorial Church, was built in 1932 to commemorate St. Patrick. It is a replica of an early church with a round tower and is built on the reputed spot of St. Patrick's first sermon and church in Ireland. When St. Patrick came to Ireland in 432 A.D.. strong currents swept his boat through the Strangford Lough tidal narrows. He landed where t...he Slaney River flows into the lough. The local chieftain, Dichu, was quickly converted and gave him a barn (sabhal pronounced "saul" in Gaelic) for holding services. It is claimed that it was here that he plucked a shamrock from the fertile Saul soil and explained the Holy Trinity through its three leaves. St Patrick died in Saul on 17 March 461 A.D. and is buried in nearby Downpatrick. Close by, on the crest of Slieve Patrick, is a huge statue of the saint. Bronze panels illustrate scenes from the life of Ireland's patron saint.

Have worked a lot with Conrad in my role as a videographer at weddings. Easy to get on with and a great sense of humour. Conrad has a no nonsense approach to photography - by this I mean that he gets on with the job without a lot of mucking about, yet gets great quality results. Professional in his approach and works well with other professionals on the wedding day, such as hotel management, officiants etc. Highly recommended!

My husband and I booked Conrad Madden Photography in 2013 for our wedding in 2015 and we only received our wedding album now in 2017 having to take legal action to retrieve what we paid for Over two years from our wedding! On the wedding day itself Conrad Madden was professional and we were happy with the majority of photographs which were taken, however the problems came after the wedding. Having paid the majority of the package upfront Conrad failed to produce the album dispite two years of constant contact and only retrieved the album with the assistance of a solicitor. We were very disappointed with the service we received and would not recommend this service to anyone.
