Bit of sourdough experimenting today, sprouted grain sourdough and malted granary Sourdough. Both are delicious, and I love the bit of horticulture at goes into making sprouted grain bread, taking the mix of Pumpkin seed, Sesame seed, Linseed and Sunflower seed to the sprouting stage and incorporating into the dough. Will have some of these baked in the morning, would love to see what you think.

Nice surprise this morning, while making some Iced coconut fingers. Our cake decorator Pippa, handed me a cut out of Saturdays Daily Telegraph. In the food & drink section there was an article on the 20 best bakeries in the UK. The journalist Sarah Guy included us in her article, and we are totally blown away. Usually when you are mentioned in the paper, you have been caught speeding, but this is brilliant news, made all the better that I knew nothing about it. Makes a change from my usual apron and bakery whites. Following a trip to Belfast, with a flat tyre indicator coming up in mums car. Resulting in me in dickybow pumping up tyres at the Temple, then parking in the wrong car park (wondering why the rugby mums were looking at me funny) we are at the finals in the Northern Ireland food awards, in the Crowne plaza. Funland organised a great reception for the new Geddis family, who found love sitting beside each other on their favourite slot machines. Wanted a photo cake for daughter's 21st. Tried other bakeries and one quoted extortionate prices, the other didn't return my call or email. Tried The Cookie Jar on recommendation by my neices and was so pleased they could fill my request. Wonderful, friendly service from James Herron and it wasn't going to cost the earth. AND it was absolutely delicious!! ����
