The family of little Ollie Grant, from Kilcoo, have spoken of their relief at the eight-month-old being fit enough to return to hospital in Belfast. He remains on an urgent transplant list and his parents, Riona and Damien remain hopeful of a donor.

Banbridge High School will be closed on Thursday (20 June) as a mark of respect following the passing of their teaching colleague and esteemed friend Mrs Roberta Nolan. Principal Andrew Bell said that "the whole community of Banbridge High School has been deeply saddened and we pass on to her immediate and wider family circle our deepest condolences at this time, assuring them of our thoughts and prayers now and in the days that lie ahead". The school said that Year 11 students who are currently on Work Placements should attend these as normal on Thursday. School will be open on Friday 21 June as normal.

It has now been over three weeks since the European elections, yet some candidates still want to top the polls! The elections were held on Thursday, 23 May and candidates and indeed their agents were informed that any posters were to be removed within two weeks of polling day. However, these two posters were spotted in Moneyslane and Rathfriland this morning. Have you spotted any eager candidates still vying for your attention?

The Loughbrickland Road in Gilford has been blocked in both directions by a fallen tree. Police have asked motorists to find an alternative route as the road will be closed for sometime.

It was a definite that a Rangers team was going to lift the Marshall Cup but the question was would it be the Banbridge-based team or their Kilkeel rivals, Valley Rangers? In the end it was Ally Wilson's Banbridge Rangers who ended the 2018/19 season with silverware last Friday (24 May) night after they won their first cup final appearance since winning the Alan Wilson Cup back in 2011.
