Craft Nymph

Another Tea Towel about Lurgan and a Framed painted drawing of Oxford Island. Available from Dananncrafts, Willliam St, Lurgan.

So this week I have been trying a few different things. I have taken a photo of Brownlow House in Lurgan. I made a screen from this and screen printed the photo onto card and fabric. The card I hand painted in the colour and the fabric I put into a hoop and free motion embroidered it. I then added padding behind and put into a frame. You can view or purchase these in Dananncrafts, William St, Lurgan From Friday 31st May.

It looks lovely and sunny in Lurgan but there's a bit of a cold breeze. Perfect crafting weather. My excuse not to have to do any gardening.

Now I can show you what I have been doing. First showing at the Dananncrafts fair at Oxford Island yesterday.

The difference an hour can make weather wise, although I should not be surprised it is Northern Ireland after all. I have been a busy little bee this morning. Something to do with tea towels. Thats all you get til I get them finished and photographed. My brain has gone into overdrive with ideas for screen printing but unfortunately there is only one of me so I will just have to exercise a little bit of patience. (not something I have a lot of) just wish I had 36 hr days.

I have lots of new things to show and sell, showcasing Oxford Island and Lurgan itself. Along with other items of jewellery etc.
I hope you can come along. It is always a great day with lots of things to see and do. Oxford Island has great walks with hides and viewing platforms. A fantastic restaurant to have a meal or a refreshing cuppa where you can sit and view the ducks... and swans.

New project. I am hoping to put these bags into production with various scenes from Oxford Island and Lurgan. What do you think? Black faux leather, magnetic bag closure, black faux leather shoulder strap. Green lining. Also doing cushions and developing kits for hand embroidery or free motion machine embroidery.

If you see something you like at a craft fair, would you buy it or if you can make it yourself would you buy the kits or panels to do so? Something on fabric panel, that you could make into a cushion, bag, embroidery or straight into a frame?

Some days you want to do a lot but just can't gather the energy to do anything. This tonsillitis has really knocked me for six. I hope to be able to show you something new next week. I'll give you a hint. It's something to do with screen printing.
