Cross Functional Fitness Description

Cross Functional Fitness exists to help you become fitter for living your life. Whether that means being able to play with your kids without feeling exhausted, or if your goal is striving towards your full fitness potential, we can help you get there.

Exercise doesn't have to be boring or dreaded. We aim to make your time training with us the highlight of your week through our innovative training methods and our enthusiastic, professional coaching.

Some of our goals include; teaching, inspiring, encouraging and motivating you towards your fitness goal, whatever that is for you.

We want you to know that your body is capable of much more than you even realise.

⚫This morning I left home at 5.15am for my first session at 6am. ⚫I just got home at 9pm this evening and after a long day, one of the most rewarding parts of personal training is reflecting on all the progress clients have made recently. ⚫One client said this evening how easy planks and side planks felt for him compared to the last time he tried them. ⚫Another client noticed how much better her hip was feeling following strength training exercises.⚫ Another client could see the definition appearing in his triceps for the first time following the efforts he was putting in with his nutrition and the hard work he was putting in during his gym sessions. ⚫It's little instances like this which remind me how privileged I am to be able to work with some great people like these and help them get closer to their personal goals.

Studies have shown that the most effective ways to reduce your chances of picking up a stress fracture is by: 1)strengthening the muscles around the bones most vulnerable 2) reducing the length of your stride. Strength training also helps you stay injury free and run faster by improving your balance, hip stability, muscle efficiency and power. ▶️Silly season is fast approaching and with it comes excess, mindless busyness and overindulgence. ▶️In the past I've known clients who felt it best to take a break from exercise altogether until January when they were less busy. ▶️They also felt they needed to take a month off from the healthy habits they were practicing until Christmas was out of the way. ▶️What happened? ▶️They returned in January feeling heavy, sluggish weaker and more tired despite supposedly having a "r...est." ▶️It boggles my mind that anyone would think of STOPPING exercising altogether (barring serious illness or injury) ▶️When you're busy you still shower, eat, brush your teeth (I hope) and continue the habits you know are good for your health and wellbeing. Why is exercise any different? ▶️Yes, you're probably busier in December. But you're also busier eating in December. So am I. ▶️You're also busier on your phone. (Check your useage history at the end of the month if you don't believe it.) ▶️You might have to shave 15-20 mins off your workouts each session. ▶️You might even have to drop from 3 sessions to 2 per week for a while. ▶️But you can still make progress over Christmas like many of my other clients did last year, much to their surprise, if you keep moving and practice healthy habits like the ones I share regularly. ▶️Busy or not - KEEP MOVING! ▶️You'll thank me in January.🙂

Stuart really Tailors the session to suit the client .

He is cautious about injury but still pushes you to feel challenged each session .

Stuart ensures your technique and form are correct and offers great advice on adjustments to achieve the perfect Squat , deadlift etc.

I feel motivated after each session and can feel and see progress.

Just finished a 3 month 1 to 1 programme and honestly the time and effort Stuart puts into each session for u is great! Good advice given in each session, pushes u to do ur best at each exercise and helps you develop new techniques! If anyone is looking to get back into shape give this man a shout

I've just completed my 3 months online programme & I'm more than satisfied for a lot of reasons.

In 3 months my measurements are changed: from 69 cm (27 inches) to the current 63/64 cm (25 inches) & this the most significant change. I also lost some weight but not too much cos this was not (& it is not) my main goal & I'm sure that what I lost in fat, I gained in muscles (In fact I have some centimeters more on legs & arms). I'm not obsessed with the scale & I prefer to take measurements.

I feel that I'm stronger now & even my resistance is a lot better than before the programme. Coach Stuart gave me new workouts every week & I've never felt bored.

It's been hard, folks!!! & I had to pay attention to my diet too, cos you can't reach your goals if you don't eat properly. Stuart Thompson helped me also in this, giving me good tips whenever I asked him for them.

This was the second time I followed a Programme of Crossfunctional fitness (the first one, last summer) so I'm happy to recommend it to anyone.

Never give up! It's really worthy... it's something you can do not just for your body, but even for your mind... for your health. I'm 41 & I love aging well.

As a woman of more mature years ie “ nearly 60” I cannot recommend Stuart enough. I very reluctantly went to my first session filled with dread. I instantly felt at ease and thoroughly enjoyed my session, so much so that I am still going weekly 2 years later. Stuart has a great knowledge of working with older clients and tailors each session to individuals needs. Honestly highly highly recommend Stuart, he has done wonders for my mobility.

This was the second time I followed a Programme of Crossfunctional fitness (the first one, last summer) so I'm happy to recommend it to anyone.

Never give up! It's really worthy... it's something you can do not just for your body, but even for your mind... for your health. I'm 41 & I love aging well.

Having spent a couple of months at Cross Functional Fitness, I have learnt so much and my mindset towards fitness has completely changed !. As a person who never had the confidence to go to the weight section in the gym, and struggled with body image issues, Stuart body positive approach to fitness was truly refreshing. Although I travel a lot and dont get as many sessions as I would like, the take home workouts which ive been given are easy to do and help me to keep on track. As a woman of more mature years ie “ nearly 60” I cannot recommend Stuart enough. I very reluctantly went to my first session filled with dread. I instantly felt at ease and thoroughly enjoyed my session, so much so that I am still going weekly 2 years later. Stuart has a great knowledge of working with older clients and tailors each session to individuals needs. Honestly highly highly recommend Stuart, he has done wonders for my mobility.
