About Daniel Gillan'S, The Tower Bar
A traditional family bar, celebrating a centenary in 2014, four generations of The Gillan family.
Daniel Gillan'S, The Tower Bar Description
Daniel Gillan's Tower Bar has been a longstanding public house in Ballymoney for generations. Also known locally as The Top House ( Tha Tap Hoose) it has been in the ownership of the one family since 1914, but was trading as a public house for decades before.
Today The Tower Bar is run since July 2000 by the grandson of the original Daniel Gillan who purchased the licence in 1914. The current licensee, also Daniel, a keen live music supporter, musician and qualified wine and spirit expert invites all local and visiting tourists to pop into the bar for liquid refreshments, the craic, some tall tales, a few jokes, the best draught beer in The Universe ( when available ) and always a warm welcome with a smile. You might even get an impromptu acoustic session whilst you are here. We always look forward to meeting new friends. . . . . . . . bring alone an acoustic instrument and join in our planned music sessions. . . . .
