Ask them why if they knock on your door. Especially those who were MLAs at the time.

Proud to have been appointed Brexit spokesperson for the SDLP.
As an MLA in a border constituency where 67% voted against Brexit I know it will be a disaster for the people I represent.
I look forward to arguing for a Backstop that guarantees No Hard Border.

The Council have asked for expressions of interest for people to take part in this years St Patrick's Day Celebrations in Strabane? ☘️
They are looking for individuals, groups and clubs to get involved with this year's Festival. So whether you are interested in being part of the Community Parade or helping out with the float building, let us know.
The North West Carnival Initiative will also be running a number of workshops in the lead up to the event in Costume Design, Face... Painting, Large Props and Illuminated Inflatables.

Good to see The Strabane Chronicle covering the work Steven Edwards, Cara Hunter and Jason Barr and I are doing about the lack of connectivity between the Bus Station and the town.

Proud that nearly 100 Party Members turned out tonight to select Cara Hunter for Derg and Jason Barr and Steven Edwards for Sperrin. And a great speech from Colum Eastwood too.

Here's my story in Today's Derry Journal on the A5. My quote is,
“These figures show that over the last four years alone, 15 people have died on what has become the most dangerous road in Ireland."
"Yet, due to a calamity of issues, the people of the West and North West still haven’t seen progress on the A5 Western Transport Corridor scheme that will save countless lives."
... "The scheme is of vital strategic importance and must proceed immediately. I have sought assurances from the Department that they will issue new Legal Orders to move the scheme as early as possible in 2019. I want to see this road built and will continue lobbying for it. The people here deserve so much better.”

Here is my interview with Highland Radio this morning. There are different rules for people East and West of the Bann.
Belfast rightly got support after the Primark fire. Yet victims of last year’s flooding in rural Tyrone can't get support because there is no minister. They deserve equality of treatment.

Here's my story in today Belfast Telegraph. £600,000 spent on relocation costs for doctors locally. My quote:
"The fact the Department of Health has spent so much money relocating doctors is a symptom that something major is wrong with the training and recruitment of doctors across the North.
"Our doctors, nurses and healthcare staff are working under immense and intolerable pressures.
... "They are delivering, in many instances, against the odds.
"It comes as no surprise the Western Trust spends most, given that Altnagelvin and Enniskillen are facing major shortages in staffing, both doctors and nurses.
"This is inevitably adding more pressure to the existing dedicated, hard-working and superhero staff we have.
"It's clear we have a massive issue in the west and north west, but there is a clear solution - a new postgraduate medical school in Derry. The effort put into this project must be redoubled and I believe the Department of Health should heavily contribute to make that happen."

McCrossan: O2 Network crash must be investigated
SDLP Economy Spokesperson Daniel McCrossan MLA has said that the crash of the mobile network O2 that affected millions of users must be investigated.
Mr McCrossan commented:
... “This morning O2’s 4G network crashed around 5am in the UK, leaving millions of customers without data access. This caused understandable disruption to many people’s lives as well as preventing access to emergency services for certain groups.
“Now more than ever, society relies on mobile networks to carry out the most basic of tasks. Therefore, it is imperative the network gets up and running as soon as possible.
“A thorough investigation must now be carried out to ensure a crash of this magnitude this never happens again.”

Here is how the Irish News reported recent development on the A5. I welcomed the comments of Transport Chiefs but said it was a "travesty we’ve got to this position on the first place".
“The west and north west of this province deserve this road that will prevent death, increase investment and grow connectivity. This scheme has generated widespread support from the public and businesses alike. There can be no more kicking the can down the road.
“I am glad the department have ...listened to my calls to progress the scheme under new civil servant powers. I hope this is done immediately and a consultation process is now imminent.”
