Facilities

Traditional print facilities:

One (16″ x 22″) Harry Rochat Albion Relief Press – With Tympan
One (26″ x 48″) Harry Rochat Etching Press
One (26″ x 48″) Penrose Etching Press
One (20″ x 15″) Harry Rochat Nipping Press for Bookmaking
A small desktop relief press
Vacuum UV unit for photo etching
Digital facility:

Large Epson Giclee Printer – capable of producing fine art digital prints 44″ wide

Apple 27″ Thunderbolt display with colour calibration
Adobe Creative Suite 5 software, including Photoshop

Dedicated studio space for:

Plate preparation (acid bath, spray booth area etc. )
Traditional print production area (inking up, paper preparation etc. )
Dedicated digital print area

Membership
Derry Print Workshop is open to a range of artists from beginners to professionals. Those who already have a limited knowledge of workshop practice may use the facilities under supervision and will be encouraged to develop their skills towards becoming an associate / full member. Novices will need to undergo beginner courses in various mediums of printmaking before being able to access the facilities as an Associate Member (able to use the workshops facilities under supervision).

Full Membership -

Full Membership is suitable for experienced printmakers who wish to use the workshop facilities on a regular basis. Applicants for Full membership will need to provide evidence of professional printmaking experience through a portfolio. Provides full access to the workshop. Full members must have reached a level of competency in their chosen printform.

Open access to the workshop. Monday – Saturday. Supervision not required.
Work can be exhibited in the studios print rack
Can submit to curated exhibitions
Payment options: £380 flat rate yearly or £35 monthly standing order.

Associate Membership -

Provides access to the workshop on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 10. 00 – 4. 30. Associate members should have a background in printmaking or have participated in printmaking workshops prior to joining or express an interest to complete relevant printmaking courses.

Access to the workshop under technicians supervision, from 10. 00am – 4. 30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, closed public holidays.
Work can be displayed in studios print rack
Can submit to curated exhibitions
Suitable for those who are not fully experienced and may need technical advice or assistance, and /or for experienced printmakers who may only wish to use workshop facilities occasionally.

Payment options: £280. 00 flat rate yearly or £25. 00 monthly standing order.

Variable Membership -

Suitable for artists wishing to experiment or print a single edition but who do not wish to commit to a full or associate membership.

Payment options: £10. 00 per 3 hours, £20. 00 per day or £80. 00 per week.
