went to the diamonds today for the 1st time in maybe 10 years and i must say it was top class the food was gorgeous and the staff for fantastic and very helpful i must say ill definitely be back here top notch

We have been here twice over the past few months and I’ve really enjoyed it both times. Particular the crab claw starter! Great service last night, nice to have a waitress with a good sense of humour. Thank you.

Was here last nite got a table straight away in sat down the staff r absolutely brillant very friendly. Ordered r food and it was fantastic really tasty food. We will defnitely b back and maybe the nxt time i will order a dessert was very full no room for it!!! But I'll make room the nxt time!!! ����

The diamonds is a long standing favourite of mine and recently I was looking for somewhere for a family meal (20 people) where half the guests were local, but half were coming up from Dublin. The guests from Dublin thought the food was amazing, and that the desserts would be worth driving up for! The Diamonds also allowed me to pick a specific set menu for the meal. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and the diamonds had cards and boxes of chocolates for them which I thought was a lovely touch. I will continue to be a regular customer, but they've definitely gained some new customers too!

My wife and my sisters-in-law surprised me and my brother with a meal here for our Birthdays. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were warmly greeted and shown to our seats. The customer service was absolutely outstanding. The food was outstanding the whole experience outstanding. Even gave me and my brother a little box of sweets for our birthday when we were leaving. Thanks for a great meal and service guys. Will be back

My friends and I went for a meal last Saturday evening. Needless to say we were very well looked after by the ladies who could not do enough for us. The wheaten bread and diluted orange was dished out in endless supply and the main meal was first rate. After dessert we were also given complimentary cake which we weren't expecting. We enjoyed it so much we ended up staying and not bothering to go to Newry cinema as originally planned. If I could sum up Diamonds in a few short words it would be 'good food and plenty of it'.

In for my birthday today and had a great time. Staff were brilliant, food was fantastic and the card and chocolates at the end was a brilliant suprise....we will 100% be back...thankyou ����

Last min decision for a bite to eat and the ladies welcomed us with a smile .. they wer so helpful the whole time and recommended what was nice on the menu. They wer happy to help. Food was 1st class. Best part was the banoffee :) thanks for a great meal will defo be back :)

Absolutely amazing as always really wanted a desert but not a chance I could have eat anything else my husband was the same maybe just go for desert next time beautiful food beautiful staff

Was very disappointed, was recommended to go, we got turkey & ham Sunday lunch. The turkey n ham ( altho I had to ask them to get us ham as there was none on our plate) looked like it was something you would have got from a local garage that has been sitting under a heat lamp very tough and dry. Tried it but won't try again sorry x ps your soup was beautiful

This place has been a family favourite for many, many years, with a variety of food which suits all age groups, at reasonable prices. However, we all agree that recently, food isn't just as good as it used to be :( This is not just a one off, but noticed on various occasions. For example, yesterday , fried eggs were v hard, omelette was extremely dry, salad was watery, soaking into the adjacent bagette.The late 'Wee Mary' would not have stood for this at all. Sadly, the nearby 'Friar Tuck's', dispite it's lack of finesse, is a strong competitor, for quality of food.

Not up to its usual good quality. We asked for the Hawaiin pizza, it arrived without the pineapple. The steak on the mixed grill was at least half gristle fat. The wheaten bread arrived with main courses. Had to remind waitress when we received main courses that we had also ordered drinks which should be served before meal.

Always enjoyed the diamond restaurant as it was always tasty and very reasonable. Staff are all lovely and so friendly! Unfortunately the last 3 times that I’ve been has been a major disappointment where the food is concerned,today being the final straw. Had to go upstairs which was fine but basically were ignored. Then given menus and when requested a certain dish was told it was not on today only to see it being served in the diamonds take away next door after we left.... the service was not good and the food was not good either, a chip shop would have served better. I really hope that this place picks up because it was always a family favourite. Just recently has let standards slip.

My boyfriend took me in yesterday for dinner. We had vegetable soup which was lovely and for are main we got a 12oz steak and chips the steak was very greasy, the peppered sauce was lumpy and the chips were sitting in grease at the bottom

Never be back. Got a table straight away and menus but never got served, male waiter walked past our table four times, approached him once and he said he would get a girl to come now, we were totally ignored and he kept attending the other table, who had drinks served and bread!!!!! We got up and left and no one even acknowledged that, in a matter of seconds the table was filled !!!!
